Orlando making moves: Magic will acquire Josh Smith for Jameer Nelson, Ryan Anderson and others...

Source: https://twitter.com/#!/LindsayM_CSN

UPDATE: 3 team deal set to be announced on draft day.

ATL gets: F Ryan. Anderson, G Jameer Nelson, C Daniel Orton, C Brendon Haywood, and G R. Beabois
ORL gets: F Josh Smith and G Kirk Hinrich
DAL gets: F Marvin Williams

Source:http://twitter.com/#!/NBASource1

Weird to trade a team in your own Division but Atlanta gets a PG and Orlando gets to slide Arenas to PG were he seems most effective. I also assume they will play Josh Smith at PF.

UPDATED

WOW great deal for ALL teams involved. Dam we arent going to have a cake walk next year.

- Dallas creating 2012 cap space for Deron Williams, a Dallas native. Sucks to be a Nets fan if this deal goes through.
- Atlanta fills holes at C and PG positions. Plus they can dump Beubois or Teague for a pick.
- Orlando gets a better up front and more backcourt depth

Driving the lanes on Orlando is going to be a nightmare. I like the move for the Magic.

if Nelson involved, time for Gilbert to step up, or these guys dead in water cause all they got left is Duhon and Turkoglu to handle ball.

Not really. Atlanta needs a PG. Crawford and Bibby are gone and Hinrich can be trade bait. Nelson becomes the new PG and Teague fills Crawford's role.

Gilbert looked like trash in limited minutes. Plus playing off the ball does not suit him it seems.

Howard
Smith
Turkeyglue
?????
Arenas

Not a bad starting lineup. They will destroy teams on the boards and getting shots in the paint will be difficult against them.

Thats a weird deal for Atlanta. Instead of getting Nelson they should highlight Teague more. Teague really showed something in the Chicago series. He looks ready to step up.

Nelson has value considering what guys like Udrih get paid.

guess that makes some sense.. there really is a ton of waaaaaaaaaay overpaid PGs in the league.

i think the hawks let jsmoove have too much freedom in that offense all these years.. a guy like van gungdy might be able to rein him in and get him to only do the things he's good at (play defense, block shots and run the court) instead of going one on one and chucking 3s.

absolutely agree. his playmaking and absolutely stellar defense on drose was the reason they won playoff games.

Exactly. Playing Smith at SF put him in a position to jack bad shots more often. Playing him at PF next to Howard should cut down on the foolish 3's.

it's weird, i both hate and like the trade for both teams for different reasons.

I think both teams just realized that they were stagnant and needed to do something.

Josh Smith was the best player for Atl in the playoffs. Good trade for Orlando. I was never a big Nelson fan, he's a shoot first pg whose most effective when he's scoring. When he's not scoring, you barely notice him. Getting Hnrich is a good add by Orlando just in case Arena's cant provide the minutes due to his injuries.

well then...

http://twitter.com/#!/NBASource1/status/83354267938861057

According to my sources Celtics appear to be the front-runner to acquire Josh Smith.. The 3 team deal between Mavs/ Magic/ Hawks are dead.
