I think the Knicks should sign him. Reason he would be an ideal sg for this team as a starter or sixth man. Would be a good move to add veteran depth to the team. Thoughts?

I agree. He owes the Knicks for his most famous highlight anyway

here's my thought: he's old and sucks.

Been ineffective for years.

Why would you want a guy on a team like the Knicks who need both an infusion of youth and defensive dudes?

Last time Vince was good was maybe his Nets days when Kidd made everything easy for him.

Yeah..he is waaaaayyy to inconsistant at this point of his career for me, he showed some flashes with the magic, even had some good games with the suns..but he would drop 20 one night, then 4 the next.

If he couldn't be consistant with a PG like Nash, what good is he here..

Yea let's get Vince Carter and continue to complain about the Knicks lack of defense. Please
Rose is not the answer.

He still has hops, I saw him do a classic Vinsanity dunk last season, but he doesn't do it often because he is trying to prolong his career. I don't want Vince Carter without the hops.

I'd rather sign Linda Carter.

For the minimum Carter is a STEAL. Old ass Carter is still better than the likes of Bill Walker or Roger Mason.

Your missing the point here, VC is still capable of big nights I'm not asking for VC in his raptors days he isn't that but what he can give the team is a solid player off the bench. If the Mavs taught us anything is that you need the team to be deep. With cap flexibility in mind he would come very cheap to NYK. He is still a threat and teams have to guard against that. As for defense MDA is still here so that isn't an issue the team will tackle next year anyways.

hey, if you want to build a team of old guys who don't play defense, by all means. VC is also not much of a ball sharer.

And why would you complain about MDA not playing defensive guys and at the same time only sign guys who are not defensive players. That's awful strategy.

If Vince was capable of big nights he still would be with Orlando, cause that's exactly what they needed.

Knicks don't need that, they score at will against teams. They need defense and youth for the long term.

Vince as a role player makes sense at the right price.

Dude listened all year to how great Grant Hill still is at his age.

Grant is happy and plays for 3 mil a year.

Vince the starphuch I say no. Vince for 18 min a game in a support role I think so.

Vince can play defense BTW, he was never asked to.

VC was great, but he's way past his prime. Why use a roster slot on a guy who's not very good, has lost more than a step, and has no development to look forward to. Let's get some young, defensive role players with upside.

VC is perfect and could be the next in a long line of washed-up, past-their-prime Knick players. Players like:

Glenn Rice
Penny Hardaway
Tracey McGrady

Only catch is that we aren't asking him to be a superstar here.

+1. anyone on our team who can drop 20 every so often is a good player to have, because we already have our focal points.

They all were cap fodder. Add Jalen Rose and Larry Hughes to the list.

They were expiring contracts.

If I had to guess, I would say that Carter is probably going to take his talents to South Beach and give the heat a hometown discount. Four divas on one team...a coaches dream.
