has there been a more critical draft in years for us? We need quality rotation players for cheap to put around a pair of guys who will be making $40mm a year for the next 4

Who is doing this for us?

I read an article the other day that said Walsh was running workouts and it appeared that he was in complete control of the draft process

Thank God Donnie is a man of character. He still wants to see this thing thru and is working despite the situation.

You act like his drafting has been stellar or something.

When it comes to finding guys late in the draft that can contribute he's a good drafter. Here he got caught off guard with the Hill/Jennings deal, but any GM can make a mistake. I like what he did with Gallo, TD, Fields, Jordan and Rautins may yet yield some results. It's hard to judge so early in the careers of these kids how well he's done or not, but I think he did a good job overall. I like Shawne Williams and Timo as well (I consider them like draft picks). I'm hopeful that he'll buy a pick or 2 and grab some of the good talent in this draft.

I'd like to know who you think is a stellar GM at drafting and how thy compare to Donnie's full record.

That's the key reason I'm happy Donnie's in charge. He's had 3 drafts here and has secured an extra pick in 2 of them. Might not be that big of a deal compared to some other teams, but I'm so used to outgoing picks that any on the way in are a breath of fresh air.

Plus, draft night is always an insane trade night. It's comforting to know Donnie's still pulling the strings and won't do anything crazy.

Donnie's done a good job. Gallo, Hill, TD, Fields, Rautins, Jordan and you can include Timo and Williams. It's still too early to even judge some of these guys. It's gonna be a very interesting draft. I like the depth and our chances of coming away with some good young players. Even after sending away all our youngins, we still can end up with a fairly youthful team. This is the kind of draft i'd love to have 3 picks in. You could buy a 1st rd. and a 2nd rd. pick and do pretty good in this draft.
