What was wrong with Lebron in the 4th quarters? Dude just disappeared. Its like he was trying to stay away from the ball. I saw him pass up 4 open shots in the last 3 minutes of a nba final game. Does this guy suck in the 4th or what?

Carmelo wants the ball in the closing minutes. After what I saw in the NBA finals, I'll take Melo.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Good question but at the same time Carmelo has only been out of the second round once.

This is such a hard question. LeBron has all the skills and talent to be the best ever. But Carmello has a virtuoso offensive game as well as balls the size of which LeBron never will. I hoPe Melo brings us to the heights LeBrons teams have been to, but then actually finish the job. I think he's capable of being that kind of leader.

Lebron is still an all around better player. Lets stop being 5-minute-ago fans. Yes, I thought Lebron was a bit passive at times and should have forced the issue a bit, but I also give Dallas some credit. The zone defense sealed off a lot of lanes. BTW, the last two games were lost, not so much by Lebrons lack of offense, but by the Heats lack of perimeter D and Carlises adjustments.

I said this a year ago, and I will say it again.. NY was the right choice for lebron... with our team (gallo, chandler, felton etc) add amare and lebron, the knicks would have been something nice to watch...

2 Different players.

Lebron is the better individual talent.

Carmelo is an unstoppable scorer with some playmaking ability.

Agreed. However, last June/July after the Knicks had won a whopping 29 games, it was hard for anyone including Lebron too see the Knicks improving as much as they did before the season started. Fields came out of nowhere, no one ever heard of Moz, Gallo improved a bit, Chandler really improved, and Sean Williams was pulled off the scrap heap.

LeBron is the best basketball talent alive... but NY is a unique place to play and I'll take the guy who wants to play here. The backapges would skewer LeBron for every 4th quarter he choked away and each fingernail he bit

Actually it more than likely wasn't. This guy over and over has wilted under pressure. There is no kind of pressure like playing in this city. I think what you mean is our roster in another City given to James was more ideal or suited for his game

I was one of very few who didn't want him and thank goodness he's not a Knick

LOL. Lebron would have been passing to Gallo and Chandler and we'd have been eliminated already. No Thanks.

As opposed to...?

LeBron and Amar'e would have been an incredible duo. But Carmelo wants to be here - I'm not going to complain.

Putting aside comparing their skill levels, I think Melo has more of a killer instinct. I don't believe Melo would have a series like this, especially in the 4th quarters of the finals.

maybe you are right... I just thought with amare taking the lead here, it would have been ideal for lebron to kind of chill as the sidekick and just play the type of game he likes.....

You saying doesnt make it true.

LeBron, Amare, Gallo, Chandler, Fields, etc < Wade, Bosh, LeBron, Miller, Haslem + scrubs

It's all subjective. Gallo and Chandler were never consistent. They have a good game followed by multiple average games. In the playoffs I roll with proven vets not enigmas.

Miller was practically a scrub this entire series.

We would have a younger and more complete supporting cast.

Wade and Lebron are the same type of player. Amare and LeBron are not.

LBron isn't here though. He's a douche. We have Carmelo. But Carmelo/Amare/old Billups + scrubs is not more enticing than LeBron or Carmelo with Amare, Gallinari, Chandler, Fields, Douglas, etc.

Terry/Chandler played on some losing teams in there younger days you realize this right? Then Stevenson was always looked at as an Al Harrington like clown. Then you have The Custodian and Mahinmi coming up big and all Haywood did early in his career was fight Etan Thomas.

What our young players may have needed was a little more time and some leadership to help show them the way

I think STAT and Melo have more of a killer instinct than Lebron or Bosh. Wade is a killer, but having Lebron in their kind of takes away from him in a sense, cuz while Lebron was taking and missing shots, Wade can't be the closer. You want to have guys that don't duplicate each other. STAT and Melo can coexist, cuz if we get a PG STAT can go back to being a finisher as opposed to trying to initiate offense. STAT can play that way off of another great player and be effective. Melo is used to being #1 option and loves it, as opposed to Lebron who's more of a point Forward IMO. It would've been better for Lebron to have come to NY. We said it then and we were all right about that. He needs to be a guy that can setup really good shooters and finishers like we had.
