Supposedly being discussed per Hoopsworld although very recent reports state the Timberwolves will hold on to pick #2

Take this rumor for what it's worth it's Hoopsworld not exactly a healthy bill of reliability

Deal makes no sense to me unless Minny plans on trading Webster and sending Wesley to the bench.

When you have a chance at a player with Derrick Williams' talent, you don't pass it up. They do have talent, but if they draft Williams, he will soon be the best player on that team. The Wolves would be fools to make that trade.

Derrick Williams is no Kevin Durant. Plus they already have Love, Beasley, and Wesley.

Who helped produce all of 17 victories last year.

Maybe Rubio makes a difference... maybe Wesley Johnson becomes a stud, maybe Randolph and Beasley take some kind of magic pill and fulfill the potential some think they have, but all I know is that they could not break 20 wins with a roster I didn't think was 17 win quality, and it makes me wonder about looking at the individual stats of individual players, when the team, as a group... sucked.

DeRozan might be better than Derek Williams anyway.

I think its a good deal for them. a stud 2 guard and still a chance to get a good pick. nice.

He might. But right now, it's debatable if Derozan is better than Landry Fields. I make that trade in a heartbeat if I'm Toronto.

Who knows...they will prolly pick Brandon Knight at 5. If there was a chance to get Flynn I would jump all over it.

I would too... he was a monster at Syracuse. Not traditional, but he's talented. And some team always gives up on a young, talented point, then they go on to have Chauncey Billup's career or what's unfodling with Ray Felton currently.

Derozan is not a strong outside shooter. Rubio is certainly not.

You need the 2 to be able to spread the floor. I see Derozan as a slasher with midrange.

Not sure this helps.

Minny needs a center and can get one at the 5. Teams know this.

Its a very logical on paper. If Derozan can fulfil that need its a good idea.

Say what BigDaddyG?

Derozan is waaaaay better than Fields. Both bring different things to the position but overall Derozan is the winner.

Just my opinion tho...

Derozan is a solid prospect entering his 3 year (I think). The kid can play and would instantly be their best SG. Williams is good, but can you honestly say that it is a lock that he is going to be better than Beasley or Love. I can't say that. I would do this deal, and in fact, if I were Minny, I would then trade the 5th pick for someone in picks 13-17 and then draft either Klay Thompson or Marshon Brooks as a second SG prospect. They would then turn their number 2 pick into 2 solid SG prospects. WIth Rubio coming over, they should have the basis for a solid team.

Kanter/Milicic
Love/Randolph

Randolph is solid? Randolph plays the 4? I dunno know what this kids natural position is. He seems to be a 3 without long range.

What is wanted from him and how he fancies himself has been his problem.

Old story.

Teams don't suck forever, minny is collecting talent and has choices.

Maybe Kahn is not the fool. We'll see.
