I wonder how he will mix with them..mainly Kobe. It was a Jim Buss hire

I think he will do ok. He certainly has managed a superstar and has taken a team to the finals. I think it will be a bit of an adjustment for their team but he is getting a great roster and a superstar player.

The big question for him will be Triangle or no triangle. most of the main guys only know that system for that team.

They mentioned his coaching pedigree in particular back with his days with the Spurs, when The Admiral and Timmy were there. I wonder if he'll try and turn Kobe into a Point Forward like Lebron was in Cleveland while playing off his bigs. Like Bynum and Odom setting pick a la Big Z/Side Show Bob

Smart move. Brown has the credentials. Not an old timer, and won't be seen as a retread like maybe Adelman might be. Shaw needs more seasoning, doesn't look like he's ready for a franchise like the Lakers.

I like how Jim branching on his own here and not caving to preferences, buddy buddy system, and going with popularity. He went for a defensive minded coach. Brown landed a prestigious job winning or losing situation except in his case he goes to a team still with a 3yr window to compete for a chip. Lakers were considering Adelman a great offensive mind, but chose differently. Nice to see guys who stress D get rewarded

Damn. I was hoping by the time Damntoni gets fired, We would've gotten a chance to bring in Mike Brown as new coach but you can forget it now. Lakers will be playing defense with Brown but their championship aspirations is DONE! Thats it for kobe...

The Lakers have a roster capable of winning a championship. I don't think the Cavs ever did. I think Brown will keep them competitive.

Oh My Mike Brown just stated everything I wish our mgmt group Top to Bottom stood for. Did anyone see his ESPN interview as to what he told the Lakers about what he wants to bring to their team?

He's a defense guy....but he is the worse when it comes to making adjustments..probably worse then MDA....
