Maybe the dumb ass has a long term plan after all?

If not, a good sense of humor!

Agreed

He comes off as crude, snide, idiotic, complete imbecile, but at least he has heart to put stuff out there and tell it like it is. I find it odd he was our President's understudy yet they appear to be complete opposites in terms of approach. He's basically begging to be fined and defiantly threatening to call Stern out again if need be...lol

I have to admit I was thinking the same thing when I saw Gilbert's son up there. After all the accounting shenanigans on Wall Street over the last few years it doesn't seem that far fetched. I'm happy for the Cavs and the Gilbert family. I'd like to see the media tape the backstage selection (keep the film crew sequestered) and release it to the press after the ceremony. It might not end the conspiracy theories but it would give the process some much needed transparency.

The last time the cavs were in the lottery they snag the #1 pick, the very next time they go, they do it again.. 14 year old boy..yeah ok...

This is a lottery, the chances of hitting the jack pot twice on consecutive trips..wow..

I can only respond by saying that if the lottery were really fixed, a large market team would win it every year.

large market teams already got $ to support themselves, smaller markets don't. Stern only needs a couple of players in key markets to drive TV deals, after that there is enough to go around.

Actually that would depend on who Is fixing it and why.

Smells fishy. I am also happy for the Cavs fans, as they were looking at a much longer rebuild if they didn't do well in this weak draft. Good for them. Who knows, maybe Gilbert's claim that the Cavs will win a chip before Lebron will come true.

As to a rigged lottery...I wouldn't be surprised, considering how lopsided and clearly "activist" the reffing seems to be. Gah!

I don't think they fix it every year, but there are times when it is in the leagues interest I think they do.

The league was probably at risk of losing Cleveland as a money making market for a long time.

not sure but I think they do it live for a set of representatives from each team, and then do it for TV.

Maybe we need to see the birth certificate of the draft. Come on now. You think they could get away with fixing it? The way loose lips are now days? Everyone gets all conspiracy nuts about things, but in actuality EVERYONE is a blabbermouth. If not today, then at some point down the line. The referee is another thing because he's independent. The lottery is run by all these people and not all of them are going to carry the secret to their graves that they have the pick to freakin Cleveland.

I'm not saying its impossible just highly unlikely...you buy a $1 lottery tic...and get every # right come back the very next week and do the same thing...really...

Even if the Ewing pick seem suspect it was good for the league..so is the cavs becoming relavent..it would bethe biggest rivalry in sports if lbj remains a heat and the cavs are back in the race

I think you're right.

It would be cool if they did live for everyone..like the "money" lottery.
