The Phoenix Suns own the No. 13 selection in the 2011 NBA draft and general manager Lance Blanks says he is open to moving the pick.

"Everything's in play in terms of how we treat this pick," Blanks told The Arizona Republic. "We're excited to have this pick. In every draft, there are players. There's no reason why there wouldn't be a good chance to get a player at that pick."

The No. 13 pick is the only selection the Suns have in the 2011 draft and ESPN.com's Chad Ford has them selecting Jimmer Fredette in his latest mock draft.

in 2004 the suns traded luol deng, the 7th pick, for... a future first, a 2nd rounder, and cash.

"The Phoenix Suns announced today that they have traded the draft rights to Duke's Luol Deng, the seventh pick overall in the 2004 NBA Draft, to the Chicago Bulls. In return, Phoenix will receive a future conditional first-round pick, the draft rights to the 31st pick Jackson Vroman (Vro-men) and an undisclosed amount of cash."

if the suns are selling, the knicks should be buying. GET THIS PICK!

The Phoenix Suns announced today that they have traded the draft rights to Kentucky’s Rajon Rondo, the 21st pick overall in the 2006 NBA Draft, and the contract of forward/center Brian Grant to the Boston Celtics. In return, Phoenix will receive a future first round pick.

“It’s pretty simple. There were four or five guys we were interested in, but they were off the board,” said Suns Head Coach and Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Mike D’Antoni. “We love the group of players we have and want to keep them together.

“We want go to battle with the guys from last year’s team and we are getting back one of the top players in the league – Amaré Stoudemire. We think we are real close to playing for an NBA championship with the team we have.”

good news: maybe if the knicks take back a contract, the suns pick can be had, given their history.

THE BAD NEWS: MDA on record saying that there were 4-5 guys they liked, and rondo wasn't one of them.

that was a BAD draft. http://www.nbadraft.net/nba_draft_history/2006.html

MDA should have ZERO input on player personnel. its 50/50 whether the guy is even coaching this team in a year, and his past history indicates he doesn't know what he's doing anyway.

Dumping Brian Grans contract was a good move. He only played 21 games the season before.

They won 61 games the season after that draft.

Real phuchups?

They went from 54 wins to 61.

I'd say what ever they did at the time one could say they had a good summer.

They had Nash, why keep Rondo? At the time it made sense.

Teams that are in "win now" mode do things they regret later.

They went on to win 61 games but ran into tough Spurs team who got them into a bench clearing brawl.

It happened to us and we got some posters who want JVG back. THat was our year. That was the Suns year. It happens.

Wasn't pringles one of the reasons we ended up with Hill because he liked the way he shot as a Big? On top of our scouts not having a stronger voice?

all the more reason he would want him to have worked out sooner than later.

Better a coach holds a rookie back until he is ready than throw him into the fire in attempt to prove his critics wrong.

Picks don't always work out. Somtimes it takes time. Look at Channing frye. In the right situation he his a very good player.

Nobody assumes MDA is a saint but some assume he is blantent moron.

All GM's and coaches make mistakes.

Donnie gets the credi for Fields but Not MDA for actually coaching him?
