From Hahn @ Newsday:

The Cavaliers see Davis as the starter next season, with Irving as the future at the position. That leaves Sessions as trade bait and one team that could have interest in him is the New York Knicks.

Alan Hahn of Newsday writes: "Mike D'Antoni has wanted Sessions since 2009, when he was a restricted free agent. The 25 year old point guard is from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina -- yes, the same place where D'Antoni's brother, Knicks assistant coach Dan D'Antoni, coached high school ball -- and both D'Antoni's feel Sessions would be a perfect fit in this offense."

Sessions, who will make $4.25 million next season and has a $4.55 million player option for 2012-13, would be the backup point guard behind starter Chauncey Billups and potentially Toney Douglas, if he did get traded to New York.

Sessions isn't a good shooter, but runs the pick and roll well and plays hard. He had 22/8/4 against the BOCKERS in one of our absurd losses to the Cavs this year.

who are we gonna trade for him? Turiaf? i'd hope some sort of consideration would come our way (2nd rounder, maybe samardo samuels as a throw in).

i view douglas as a backup 2-guard who can play PG on spot duty. i don't think he's a the backup PG.

What's his salary situation? If we can leave room to acquire a big he could be adequate considering the ability to create our own shot at other positions.

Sessions salary - too high and 2 years remaining. Forget him.

The little dude is having a hell of a post season to jack his value!

I wonder what his salary demands would be and is he really a good fit on an undersized team.

We assume Rautins is toast?

If no potential value than I assume he is gone.

If not, he might be of use.

Not quite sure I'd say that. Dallas is also. Most good teams win from the outside. I'd say they have athletic bigs on defense to back them up.

In 26 mins a game with 13/5 Ramon Session would be the 3rd highest scorer on the knicks and 1st or 2nd in assists.

6'3, 25 years old, how many guys make less than 4 million that had similar numbers???? Sessions for Turf would be an great trade imo.

well now this is VERY interesting, especially considering the Cavs have the #1 and #4. Irving with #1 and Jonas Valanciunas or Enes Kanter (both C's) at #4?

Perhaps to save $ they would trade Davis/Varejao for Turiaf/Billups/TD? Knicks would have to draft PG but I would think about it for a long time.

Cleveland comes out with a C, Hickson, PG core with oodles of cap space in summer of 2012.

Realistically, the only way the Knicks can get better is to trade Billups, use MLE if it's still around, or hope and pray CP3/Deron/Dwight wants to play in NY in summer of 2012.

Anyone have any indication of what the cap situation may be next year? Varejo's contract runs for 4 more years I think. He would help but I'm not sure he's worth the contract. If we wanted CP#/Howard or Williams they would potentially have to come for the MLE or something like that which has never happened in the history of the game.

How about we stop bringing in "D'Antoni players" and bring in NBA players that can help us? Sessions isn't a bad option but there are better out there.

+million

I'd be happy with Faried and signing Reggie Evans/Jeff Foster/Aaron Gray.

Hopefully Donnie could, like someone said, pry away Samuels along with Sessions.

I think getting Sessions would be a great move.

I don't like that because I'm not a fan of Varejao, but getting Sessions would be a good move for the Knicks because he's a better point guard than Douglas if he can run the pick and roll and not shoot. Getting depth at the point guard position would settle the perimeter for the Knicks, because it slides douglas over to the 2 where he belongs. They still need to get a frontcourt, though.

The trade of our dreams is Balkman/Walker/Rautins for Sessions because we keep Ronnie.
