So NBAdraft.net/HoopsHype has us taking UCLA's 6'8 SG/SF Tyler Honeycutt over Faried and Darius Morris.

2010-11 MIN 35.0 PTS 12.8 REB 7.2 AST 2.8

Sorry, I couldn't find any UCLA highlights for him.

Thoughts?

needs:

starting C
backup PG
more frontcourt help (especially rebounders)

we dont need a backup SF. melo should play 38 minutes a game at the 3. other needs FAR more pressing.

draft.net doesn't adjust their board to reflect team needs. their mock is really just a ranking of the prospects, no consideration as far as who picks what position until their last few mocks before the draft. we won't take honeycutt.

expect a penetrating point guard (who can play alongside billups) or a rebounding big man who can at least play a legit PF.

Honeycutt didn't really impress me that much when UCLA went up against St. John's, but one game isn't enough to base a scouting report on. The dude is young, athletic and versatile. But, if we draft him it should be with the knowledge that he's two years away from contributing.

He's really smart and he does Doug Christie/Shane Battier better then Landry Fields believe it or not. Unfortunately he's a tweener, without an NBA ready body at his position. Definitely like him(along with others) with an additional pick if we can get one higher than our Celtics positioned second.

Rather have chandler Parsons. He measured in at 6'10.5 with shoes. They faced each other in the tourney when Parson was still suffering from a deep thigh bruise and still slightly out played him, imo. I thi k Parson has more range and a better overall game. Plus when Ny go small and put melo at the 4 he could pose severe match up problems. Also he ia an amazing rebounder for a wing which ny needs.

Not a fan. I agree Parsons is better. So is Chris Singleton.
