Lil Jose Juan is a free agent-to-be. Anyone watch him eat up the Lakers last night? He made some slick moves in the 4th.

Not sure what kind of money he'd command but definitely a guy worth talking to. Played in 81 games this year backing up Kidd. 20 minutes per game, 10 points, 4 assists, 2 rebounds.

One of our main weaknesses last year was we didn't have anyone who could break guys down off the dribble, JJ is pretty good at that. He has some crafty moves.

Definitely not a savior but if the prices is right and its do-able he'd be a nice bench upgrade.

Toney D is more of a Jason Terry 2.

Big... he's got some game but he's 5'10 with a 5'10 wingspan. When he gets chewed up on D are we going to blame the coach?

Lets get some guys who can defend.

I do agree some dribble penetration would be huge.

I saw him at the Garden this year, and noone could stop him. He ate us up.

I think Anthony Carter also needs to resigned. He can be our defender. Barrea can give us 15-20 min a game and run the SSOL offense.

He's great vs the Lakers who have Derek Fisher but Fish is right... he can't defend.. any team with a penetrating point guard will eat him up.

We're a playoff team now. We have to make moves that strategically address our deficiencies against the other top teams in the league. We don't need no more offense. If you can't stay in front of Rondo then there is no place for you in our backcourt. Present company (TD) included.

Well, I would beg to differ. A defensive center will make a lot of perimeter players look good. You put Dalembert to roam the paint to protect the rim and staying in front of Rondo is not a problem. Barrea would be a cheap backup that is a very good backup PG. I think these good cheap signings is what we need.

If you could sign him to like a 4yr $3.5 per year type of deal, then great, but I would think Dallas would match that deal.

barea addresses several deficiencies. he can break guys down off the dribble, which none of our other guards do. he can also push the basketball and set people up, which billups doesn't do and toney does out of control.

i don't think cuban lets him out of dallas.

I hope Kenyon Martin, Anthony Parker or Jrich will be that but lets see

I doubt though K-mart will come for cheap, he wanted to sit out longer during the season becasue of his contract year

As far as back up pg's that have looked like they have the potential to grow into starters - I always liked Goran Dragic.

Whether we can actually get any of these guys - I think the important thing is players like this can be found in the second round and later first round.

We need to get very lucky with whatever picks we keep - and hope we can find some guys that over achieve as far as their draft position.
