If Michael Redd is willing to sign a minimum contract I would def take him, high risk low reward, The Knicks need to surround Melo and Stat with shooters let Landry Fields come off the bench with douglas for energy as a second unit.

What about getting Wilson Chandler back at an affordable price (MLE?) to play the 2? I am not sure how much money he would command on the open market with the way he ended in Denver. He clearly was unhappy there and really liked NY. He is actually a good defender and it would give us nice size. If we can then add Dalembert, that would be perfect.

Billups/TD
Chandler/Fields
Melo/Shawn W/B Walker
Amare/Shawn W/Chandler
Dalembert/JJordan

Redd is a bit too injury prone at this point IMHO.

I would love the get Wislon back but I don't see how it's possible , they would have to work out a sign and trade and who is left to trade? Tony Douglas and Landry Fields ?also it would have to be a one year contract so they can have money for 2012 for either Chris Paul or Deron Williams.

Well maybe he would play one year for the MLE to resurrect his possible big payday. At one point in the season he was on his way to 10 mil+ per. He just did not look as good in Denver.

One can hope.

Wouldn't mind illwill back, but I don't see him as an answer at shooting guard. I would see him as more as an upgrade over Shawne Williams -- our super sixth man at the bench. As for Michael Redd, I dunno. He didn't show much in his brief stint back and it's been years since he played good defense. I would take chance on him as a three point shooter off the bench, but I don't know if we can count on him to start. Our best option at the two for now is Landry, Let's hope he studies tape and works on his game in the offseason.

I just dont think that Landry in a good enough Jump Shooter. He is more of a set shooter with no arc on his shot.

And though Fields can be a strong contributor to a good team, I see him as a poor mans Rick Fox.

I think Rick Fox is a fair comparison. Landry's rookie season compares very favorably to Fox's and he did shoot 39 percent from three. That's a good start. The mechanics on Landry's J can be worked over time. Ill Will had that habit of drifting on his J and he was able to fix that this past season. I have faith in the rook, mainly because we have to. There aren't many options out there to upgrade.

Landry strikes me as a David Lee type player- I'm willing to bet he comes back next year stronger & with an improved shot.

The Knicks need to surround Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e with high-effort players that can hit open shots. Redd fits the description pretty well and could come cheap, so he's exactly the type of guy they should look at.

Landry can get better and I see no reason to doubt that he'll improve like most young players do when they have his kind of work ethic. On the cheap Redd isn't a bad option tho.

Sure, if we can get him at the veterans minimum for no more than 2 years
Rose is not the answer.

depends on who is the coach, im just scared that his knees wont be able to hold up.. also his defense would be atrocious! imagine he sucked with healthy knees what more know?

right... I wouldn't want Redd to rpelacce Fields in the starting lineup either. But to have Redd be the primary option on the second unit? I'd be interested in trying that out

Pretty much, we should stay away from guys with knee problems with this coach.

This is why I shut down the though of maybe why we should try to get Brandon Roy for Billups. Ultimately, with his knee injury and this coach things would go bad and for that money it's too big of a risk.

Redd is a guy I can see 5 or 6 teams picking him up and seeing if he can help( Magic being number 1 with the Bulls being a close number 2) but with the way we play I don't think it's a risk worth taking.

ill still look at anthony parker, jason richardson and redd. I think richardson is the most unrealistic since he is still in his prime.

But those are the 3 people i want as our starting 2 guard next year... bring fields off the bench

I'd like it if Azubuike got another shot to make this team....usually takes over a year to come back from those serious knee things. Redd had his last surgery last year? Or in '09?

I think Azu just underwent a corrective surgery on his knee again. My guess is that he is tentative to recover for training camp time period.

10 seconds left in the 4th, Knicks 101 Miami 103, Game 7 - Carmelo drives - The defense collapses - Carmelo rockets an outlet pass to Redd behind the three point line - Micheal Redd for Threeeee!

Get this done Donnie!

Had enough Melo?
