... is there any chance to force Toney Douglas to spend every single minute of this summer with family Billups? The only instant he should be allowed NOT to be with Chauncey, would be when mister and misses Billups needed some quality private time. And even then Toney would come in handy. He could babysitt the Kids or walk the Dogs.

Seriously, Chauncey is a great Teacher. I am pretty sure they took his option with at least one eye on Toneys development. Westbrook and Rose spend 4 weeks with him in last summer, and both are on a rampage this season. He does make PGs better if they want to listen, and Toney is willing to listen.

I dont know if this would be enough to get Toney to a level were he could become our starting PG after next season, but it wouldn't hurt neither.

Nah, Denver is a long way away from Jonesboro, Georgia. Half of Toney's time would be spent adjusting to the altitude and dearth of quality pickup basketball games.

Douglas would be better served hooking up with Sam Cassell in Houston and joining the other pros who workout at City Center Club.

Toney Douglas playing like Sam Cassell would work.

To bad I was not able to really see Cassell play. I remember liking him in NBA Live though...

I am living in Germany, a country heavily undersaturated in everything NBA related. We had NBA in free TV in the late 90s, but lost it due to the advancement of pay TV lateron. Last season was the first since our 99-00 run I was seeing any games due to Cosmic, this year I was seeing basicly every Knick Game, due to NBA TV. SO, no Im neither 4 years old, nor have seen him play.

But thanks for the kind question anyway

TD needs a brain transplant. Dude does not understand how to be a PG.

considering some of the replies here I could see where that would be a logical deduction.

Why is it that everyone thinks you cant learn anything new after the first 2 seasons?

I certainly believe he did become a lot better in this year. Hell, he even became a lot better in the 2 month playing with Chauncey here. Is he a finished product? No, of course not. He has his brainfarths as any young player. Starks had brainfarths until the end of his career and we all loved him! And TD is definitly willing to listen and learn.

If we just for once stick with a guy we've drafted, in the worst case scenario we have him here as a backup after this year. A backup maybe to DWill or CP3. In the best case we have our third main guy besides Melo and Amare.

Billups should really help Toney Douglas's game. I think he can still improve as a PG, but I am convinced that Douglas will never be a starting caliber PG. He just does not have the natural ability to pass and create offense that a pg needs. He, however, can develop into a Jason Terry type 6th man, and I think he could excel in that type of role.
