According to Hahn:

http://www.newsday.com/sports/basketball/knicks/the-knicks-fix-1.812055/amar-e-melo-avoid-walsh-d-antoni-talk-1.2836602

If the Knicks want to save money next season, they have five days from now to waive Chauncey Billups and pay only $3.7 million of guaranteed salary in 2011-12. After the five day period, his entire $14.2 million salary locks in for the final year of his contract. Odds are Billups will at least be back for one more season and he could be a valuable expiring contract next season.

His website has been more accurate in details than most of them out there concerning contracts

Hahn? The same beat writer who tweeted last year during the deadline "He couldn't sit around and babysit trade news" and that for his followers to "Keep him posted while he enjoyed what was left of the evening?"

Maybe I should tweet him a link to Shamsports... now that you mention it

KBerger agrees with Hahn:

The decision on Billups, 34, must come first due to a five-day clock that began ticking Sunday on a deadline to fully guarantee his contract for next season.

I think Billups will be brought back, though I wish there were more time to consider other options.

No need to send them a link... they have it right more than likely. I wrote it wrong. Shamsports states last game of the season as in the team's last game not the league.

If we bring him back, we're pretty much locked in to the roster we have and have very few options of upgrading talent.

If we don't bring him back, you're looking at around $13m or so, given present circumstances, to fill out the roster.

I think they'll bring him back, if nothing more than as a place holder.

I think with the uncertainty of the lockout, they HAVE to keep him.

Maybe explore trades of him after the lockout is over.
