http://refcalls.com/2011/04/20/tuesdays-featured-calls-knicks-celtics-game-2-couple-of-4q-no-calls-help-boston/

At the 11:07 mark, Glen Davis barreled into Jared Jeffries out-of-bounds, which should have been a technical on Big Baby. Referee Bennett Salvatore (#15) was the closest ref who missed the call, although it was so clear what happened, the other refs (Joe Crawford (#17) and Michael Smith (#38)) could have blown the whistle as well. How Jeffries restrained himself from retaliating was impressive…or maybe wimpy? You can check it out in the video player below the 6:30 entry.

This is clear as day and should have been a tech

6:30 – Rajon Rondo lifts his pivot foot before releasing the ball (and thus travels), spins around his defender, scores, and there’s no call from ref Joe Crawford (#17), the closest ref to the play. Because Boston won this game and it was such a big score as the Celtics were making a comeback to give them an 82-81 lead, we have also featured it in the video below.

From that point, Boston made plays down the stretch, and New York didn’t. Thankfully after Rondo’s travel and bucket at the 6:30 mark, there was really no other call that had a huge bearing on the game, which is good since we’ve all seen much worse. But Rondo’s missed travel that helped Boston get the lead has to make Knick fans feel a little sick on Wednesday morning.

I am a firm believer that a player or anyone for that matter should not be able to call time out unless he is standing on his two feet. That last play by KG was a very good defensive play by him as he knew that Jefferies was not going to shoot the ball. When he got the ball on the ground that should constitute lack of possession and should have been a jump ball. That to me is as bad as calling time out when falling out of bounds which was eliminated by the NBA. No use crying about spilt milk game three will be the Knicks game.

What about when Melo got mugged and ref was shielded and missed the call the other refs didn't even think about blowing the whistle.

True but had no affect since Melo made the shot anyway. These two had an impact on the game.

On at topic of calls...I watched the second half again today...The three second call to start the third quarter on Turiaf was pure fiction...I re-winded it 4 times and I could barely get 2 one-thousand out my mouth before the ref blew the whistle...I really don't know how u make calls on what you think is happening and not what u know is happening...

you know what... I was watching with DVR last night and rewound that play about 3 times myself when it happened and noticed the same. That was a Melo 3 pointer, right?

yeah...it's just insane...I don't know how they make that call...granted, I don't think Turiaf was planning on leaving the lane in one sec but clearly it's wasn't a three second call yet...

This is officiating has been horrible how about when Melo drove the lane and got raked across the arm by Paul Pierce, even Mike Breen said that was a clear foul of course no call out of bounds.
No layups!

I say Obviously becuase there will always be questionable calls, the problem I have is the miss FTs, the Techs that give away points. You have played this team 5 times this year with just about all of them were a loss by a couple pts...you just can't afford to play careless

These refs remind me of the jockey in the movie "Easy Money" who is trying to lose the race by pulling on the reins and plowing his boots into the ground to slow the horse down. All we need now is Joe Pesci to come out of the stands.
