... Now it's our turn to do the same thing."

- Carmelo Anthony

Bootleg thread alert: Gymkata, you make an excellent point. Carmelo demonstrated a toughness last night and refused to allow his team to slump. Forget the 42 points, it was the WAY he competed. Anthony was all over he court on both ends and imposed his will on Jared Jeffries, of all people, who hit a huge layup. Jeffries has zero confidence with the ball in his (cough) hands. Carmelo made Jared Jeffries a better basketball player last night. Imagine that. If Carmelo can make Jared Jeffries better, imagine what e could do with a reasonable facsimile of Timofey Mozgov.

You want better?

It gets better.

They were blantently doubleing Melo and he found the open man. They double dog dared us to beat them with our bench and we almost did.

The Raggedy Man was clutch down the stretch and Ray was Ray. The Tree Frog Freak Rondo was impressive!

How can you NOT like Carmelo's fighting spirit?

The Knicks have proven to themselves that they can play the Celtics to the wire. I have nothing but respect for the motley assemblage of pirates who traded shots with the her majesty's, world renown fleet, the Boston Celtics. There is only so much a home crowd can do while the Celtics powerful empire simply has the Knicks outgunned at nearly every position.

Amare and Chauncey missing from an already depleted rotation is too crazy to contemplate. Carmelo might as well go into the teeth of the monster like the always-smiling, and oh-so-talented, Captain Jack Sparrow. He turns the most lopsided advantage into a winnable contest. He goes into battle with a wisecrack or something that defies explanation in the king's English. Big freakin' deal. What more can you ask?

Can the Knicks steal the coveted treasure in seven games?

Probably not. But you know what?

I'm still overjoyed to be watching a home game in The Garden this Friday night.
