How many airballs were shot tonight?
Carmelo + not another single legitimate NBA starter, and Celtics couldn't blow us out? Shame on them.
This was not playoff quality basketball. This was preseason. Horrible.

I enjoyed the game. It's true there were too many bad shots, but the pacing of the game and the fact that the Celtics couldn't blow it open even though they should have made it exciting. Also it was amazing to watch Melo do his thing. Dude is a hardcore baller. Rondo was amazing in the first half as well. And it was Fishlips' best overall game as a Knick.

Basketball quality? Airballs? Try pulling out an old tape of one of the Heat/Knicks 70-67 slugfests. Talk about ugly. Those games were only good because we won and we were fans of the Knicks.

Panos, pay attention to what Kramer says to Sally at the 5 minute mark in this video. Very educational.

Knicks played their hearts out. We should be thrilled by what we saw. Imagine next year when we spend some money on a better supporting cast.
And the series isn't done yet. We still got 4 games to win.

huh? If I didn't already watch the preseason, I'm pretty sure I would if games were like that.

The playoff games we played in the 90s were far uglier than this. There were some rough moments, but from a pure intensity and effort standpoint, I've rarely seen games as good as this. The Knicks stayed in this game because they played harder than they've ever played in their lives.

And because it's not being said nearly enough: Carmelo Anthony turned in a miraculous performance.

Please take a moment to imagine the day when both he and Amare are clicking.

Unforgettable performance if it was a win...hopefully he'll give us a few more like it in victories so we won't have to look back on this one. But honestly, I'm only 27 years old, but I've been watching the Knicks intensely since I was very young- and I can't think of a better individual playoff performance, especially in that context. Sprewell almost willed us to a win in Game 5 against the Spurs, but this felt a bit more miraculous at times.

Melo plays like a all star and we get blown out.

Dropping 42 and 17 in the playoffs is BIG TIME.

Amare dreams of grabbing 17 boards.

For the record, excluding Melo's shooting, the rest of the Knicks shot 30% for the game.
