Well think about it logically. The major players in the free agent market will be the Clips and the Nugs, and well the Hawks.
Clips have Brand and want to sign Kobe, no way they throw big money at Sheed, it is pretty clear they are not even gonna bother with him.
Nugs have Nene and Camby, I dout they will make a run at a Wallae type player with the type of team they have there, simply does not make sense to grow a lot of money at Sheed when you are developing your own young PF and can go after a permier SG in Kobe or Richardson, a position that actually needs an upgrade (props to Lenard, he is tearing it up for my fantasy team, but I still don't think he can be a starter longterm).
Hawks, well they are the Hawks. No way Sheed signs with them, and no way they want to sign him. Not the move the new management will want to make as a start to rebulding the fan base.
What is left after that? Utah? No way the Jazz get a guy like Wallace, Sloan will rather quit then accept a guy like that into his system. And they don't have that much cap. Some teams who can offer a midrange deal, not that much over the exception.
If you are in Wallace's place, what do you do? You are 30, you've got a lot to prove to the world, you already have lots of money, why not NY? Endorsments will be good in the city, a chance to win the title with Steph and the rest of the crew, and if he plays well, an extension at the end of the season for the big bucks. It is really not that farfeched for Wallace to sign with us in the summer. Also playing for a loosing team in Atltanta will teach him a good lesson, after half a season there I dout he will even think about signing for a bad team again lol.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?
