they will lose 10 out of 10 games that way. They can't beat Boston in a halfcourt slowdown game when it comes down to executing a few possessions here and there. They have played 4 games this year, leading the game down the stretch, only to be failed in the final minutes. Its been excruciating, but the Knicks cannot play Boston's game down the stretch.

If the Knicks are going to win this series they need to execute the way they did in the 2nd quarter of the game today in the 4th quarter of these games. Ball movement, balance. Finding the back door, finding the open man. Boston disrupted their game and forced the one on one offense. If not for Amare's determination Boston would've closed out down the stretch the way they did in the third game this year.

The key question is can they play their game with Douglas and Carter at the point if Billups is not there? May actually be a blessing in disguise as Billups tends to freelance and force his shot a lot more.

I agree but there was a lot more that happened which cost us the game. Melo's early foul trouble, the foul call against him in the 4th which was a BS call, Billups not getting the foul when J Oneil mugged him, sloppy play in the last 4 minutes, the list goes on.

I definitely agree we can't play Celtic ball or we lose every time buy we have a lot of other issues that need to be worked out to win game 2. I am glad we were in it until the end but it was a really tough loss - they need to bounce back quickly.

I just posted this in the game thread but Fields played some great D on Allen and I think that was key. While Toney may be a better on the ball defender, Allen doesn't play like that. Fields has the height and speed and stamina to stay with Ray and bother him on those jumpers. He also denied him the ball very well. I was dying for. Mike to put Fields back in when Allen was killing them.

Problem is Fields looked like a rookie on the offense last night. He was forcing shots with no intention of making the shot. Espcially when the second half started and it was clear that the Celtics were leaving Fields open to concentrate on other Knicks. I took a lot out of last nights game. Knicks were in it and that is what you like to see especially on the oponents floor. Celtics played very hard and the Knicks were still in the game kind of demoralizing for the Celtics. Yeah they won. But after watching last nights game I don't think the Knicks will lose another game to the Celtics. Knicks will take them out in 5 or 6. Celtics look very old and alot of the Knicks looked inexperienced. Melo had his Starks game better to have that in game one than seven.

Between Amare, Melo, Chauncy, Tony, and seemingly Bill "Memo Jr" Walker, we didn't need offense. We had more then enough offense to win. Fields on Allen was a huge reason the Knicks were ahead early.

I know between the C position and the 2g position the way Fields played we were 3 on 5 offensively but Fields played like a rookie in his first playoffs. This is something we are gonna have to overcome to win.

Fields would've been better off taking no shots. When he came in during the 2nd half forcing those 2-3 bad looking shots that probably kept MDA from putting him back in. The reality is he was on the floor when the Knicks were executing on all cylinders in the 2nd quarter- and even if he wasn't recording stats he was moving the ball and playing defense.

Exactly ny thinking. He did a he'll of a job on Allen in the first. If I am Mike I tell home for this series, pretend he is Bruce effing Bowen and he is there to stop Allen from scoring.
