Doesn't really mean much. They pretty much played the entire season without him.

he's not remotely the same shaq. i don't care whether he plays or not. though i guess it means boston will be more likely to play small.

Shaq may not be the same as he was 6 years, but he is still big and he can still catch and dunk. I think we have a better chance without Shaq playing.

He's out indefinitely. He won't see the light of day in this series. Good news for us, as we had no answer, even for an aged Shaq.

Those calf/achilles injuries are tricky. Thats what did in Patrick during our '99 run.

problem is when shaq's in the game he can't come close to guarding anyone. i imagine every time shaq is on the floor that plays amar'e, melo and shawne williams. shaq is going to get abused defensively, especially on the pick and roll.

Let's hope the long rest gives STAT the boost he had in the first 4 months of the season. No Shaq might not be the end all for the C's, but it definitely doesn't hurt us.

Looks like both teams are playing small ball. I like our chances.

agreed. While I don't think we'll see vintage Shaq for a full series, I'd prefer not see another big that has the potential to go into full beast mode with their second unit

I have absolutely zero fear of Shaq at this point. He's old and fat and there's no way he's gonna be able to keep up. He might give them a few good moments, but I just don't see him being a major factor in this series. He's gonna hurt them defensively and I don't think he's gonna hurt us enough to make up for what he gives up.

I fear Shaq in 5-10 minute spurts. I think it is within the realm of reason that he could have a huge impact in two games--if healthy. Big if, but I am happier he won't be around. I don't want to make it sound like I think he will impact every game, because I don't, but do think his presence alone would slow the pace of the game down, in a couple of games. That makes him a potential game-changer and someoene I'd rather not see suit up. I'd rather Krstic or JO or Murphy or whatever other retread they have get those 5-10 minutes because they won't effect pace the way Shaq could
