Just thinking that we finally have the winning roster to put around Ewing, and he's 50 years old.

Imagine if Ewing was in his prime when we finally got Sprewell, Houston, Camby, and LJ?

But Ewing in his prime on this team is most definitely a championship contender.

Yeah I never blamed Ewing for our failures. He did everything he could. Now I'm hoping we can give STAT and MELO the final pieces they need to win a title. We're not that far off. A PG and a dominant rebounder or 2 would make a huge difference.

Yeah...let's hope Walsh is around to do it on the cheap. So we have room for better depth

Ewing wouldn't pass the ball to Amare and Melo and would stop the ball flow.

Then he would orchestrate a mutiny to have MDA fired and Fratello would be bought in. Then Amare and melo would be upset not seeing the ball and they would push back......and so on, and so on, and so on........

While its a nice sentimental thing, I don't see where his skills as an assistant coach primarily to teach young bigs would help.

we've been saying this since the days of camby/lj/spree. people said it when marbury got here.

time to let this one go. i loved ewing, and would've loved if he could've played with another real star. but it wasn't meant to be.

You've type cast Ewing as only an assistant to work with bigs? Really? Just because that is all he has done?

Like when he was drafted and no one expected any offense out of him?

The thing I would like about Ewing as Coach of this group vs. MDA, is Ewing was a no non sense warrior. He battled against teams that were better talent wise, and did so with effort.

Pat might need help with an offensive system, but as far as motivating guys to box out & defend, and to have a will to win, I have no doubt that Ewing would do a great job of that with this, or any squad.

The sad thing is there was a roster around Ewing and stupid BK had to go waste a few allstar years in BulletWizardland. Ewing Oak- BK- MJackson- Starks. Then replace Starks with Spree. Replace Houston with anybody. Camby, KurtBugeyes off the bench.

Ewing would make a good coach, but he's obviously not impressing anyone. I mean, a Monty Williams gets a head coaching gig before you, you've got to be asking yourself some questions. Maybe he needs to put the ego on hold and go head coach the NBDL or college somewhere first.

I take exception with your remarks regarding BK. Assuming that you're speaking about Bernard King, please recall that he was injured when Ewing came aboard. Instead of embracing him and allowing he and Ewing to team up, Rick Pitino, who was the new coach wanted to try winning with the college kids. Big mistake, hoping the Kenny Walker could replace the venerable King. It was downhill from there

I take exception to your exception. Al Bianchi ran both BK (Who else would you think I was talking about, Burger King?, Bruce Kaufman?) AND Pitino out of New York. It's fairly well documented that Bianchi's first choice was his pal and mildly incompetent buddy, John Macleod as coach. Which he got after Pitino left. They actually replaced BK with the precursor to Kurt Thomas, the ever-forgettable Sidney Green, since the brilliance of Bianchi decided that moving up the rebounding rung would be a better move for the franchise than re-signing an injured scoring champion. The big mistake was not believing that BK was back after that brief stint at the end of the next season where he averaged 22pts a game for 6 games. I do agree that almost everything went downhill from there in the Ewing Era, except for the signing of Spree.

The sad thing is we finally have the roster...
