I am curious what everyone thinks STAT will be like when he gets back on the floor? We all know he took a pounding this year and especially in March with the schedule. He was looking tired, his legs looks stiff, and he just wasn't the same.

Now with time off heading into the playoffs do you think he has had enough rest to recover? How concerned are you that he won't be back at 100%?

I do think the ankle sprain is being used to get him some well deserved rest but if it is really hurting him that could play a role as well.

Personally I want him to come out and beast like he has for us in the past but realistically I don't know what to expect since he has already worn down quite a bit.

He was looking much better the last few games before he hurst his ankle. Most players are a little banged up at this time of the year but I think we'll see the STAT we're used to seeing. The ankle injury may be a blessing in disguise, he needed the rest. I think he'll beast once again.

As an athlete in midseason form, you don't want too much rest. Your body starts to heal and you stiffen up. I think he'll basically get the perfect amount of rest and get back to his beastly ways

In my experience, you're tightest right after the injury (well usually the next morning) and your body gradually but continually loosens as you heal.

I think you should keep that to yourself.

I don't think I was too clear on my intial post. When you compete over the course of a year, your body breaks down, even if you're not injured.

If you rest too long, that begins to heal. If you get injured and recover from the injury, but rest well after healing, the chronic wear and tear begins to heal and you get effects similar to scar tissue being formed.

Kind of like when a baseball pitcher hurts his shoulder or elbow... maybe he's not ready to pitch, but they keep his arm active so the fibers don't tighten up as the body tries to recooperate from chronic issues.

Anyway, I didn't mean you get injured and wake up the next morning and go right to work. I'm talking about not taking excess time off after the ankle sprain is healed

We need a bodyguard for Amare. This is why I want Shelden to start alongside Amare.

Keyword there is "try."

I don't think Amar'e gets intimidated by washed up power forwards that pick on European point guards.

you guys arent watching. KG has averaged 23ppg 11rpg and 65% shooting in 3 wins against the Knicks this year. If you think we win this matchup you havent been paying attention.

If KG is getting 15 rebounds per game and playing his usually elite defense we are getting smoked here. Amare needs to flat out out play KG and he hasnt done close to that. Just getting his #s isnt good enough.

I think STAT is gonna be more active than we've seen him. He's really getting a lot of rest and I can only assume it's going to make a difference. When he has his legs back it should allow him to put some pressure on KG and the other C bigs.

True... KG is difficult match-up.

I think Amare personally made it a point to embarrass Tim Duncan a few years back. My hopes are we see his encore during this series.
