knicks are going to the playoffs for the first time in a decade and espn radio is talking about the texas rangers being 0-5. REALLY? Why does basketball get such little attention on sports radio? They'd rather talk about spring training our next years football than basketball

The Texas Rangers are 6-0 and the Boston Red Sox are 0-5, but point taken

Historically speaking though, each league gets the highest ratings at the beginning of a season, because everyone has hope

And in case of the BoSox, they were teh trendy World Champ pick, so I can see that being a conversation point

Listening to sports radio can be treated with a doctor's prescription.

Actually ESPN radio talks more about the NBA than NY's Primary sports radio station: WFAN. and WFAN's premier radio personality Mike Francesa won't even mention the NBA until the playoffs. he dedicated maybe 2 days to the Melo trade. If he had his choice he would talk about the yankees for 4 seasons. He'll talk golf before NBA.

Honestly, these guys not talking about basketball is just fine with me. Most of these sports talk guys don't know what they're talking about when it comes to the NBA. I think I was listening to Mike Francesca the day after the Melo trade and he was talking about NY getting Hasheem Thabeet would put us over the top.

By the time its on the radio UKer's have talked about it in excess anyway.

Most people don't even care abot the NBA, they think its "a bunch of over paid diva egos who don't play much defense and only care about scoring points!"

Then when the teams play good defense they think its "a buch of low fundamental players who never learned how to shoot the ball".

Low scoring games are hard to quantify as being "good defense" or "bad offense".

Im going to guess that people would prefer to see 100 pts scored than 73.

Michael Kay show has actually led in Knick talk since Melo got here...Everyday it's been Knicks and mostly Knicks the last month...Kay led with the Yankees one day, opening day and he is the Yankee announcer...So kudos to him...Michael Kay 1050 ESPN radio starts at 3pm...Bill Daughty has a great show "Knicks Talk" after all games and starts at 10:00pm or 10:30pm to midnight..It might even be nightly...WFAN doesn't talk hoops, I stop listening years ago when Joe Beningo left the overnight show...He loved the Knicks but has adopted the mantra of no Knick talk by the station the last few years....
