Because we don't have a draft pick next year and if a lot of early entrants decide to skip the draft then next years draft will be very deep AND teams will not be selling late first round picks like usual. Not to mention we won't get a decent player late in the teens this year then.

So far I think we are ok as I haven't heard of any players (yet) that specifically are pulling out due to the uncertainty of the CBA and a possible lockout.

The Knicks could try to make a deal for a future pick.

Well that tells us who Minny would pick eh?

Honestly, is there a lottery team that shouldn't pick Irving if they get the first overall pick?

I suppose Washington would get more value from taking the pick and trading it?

Pretty sure Jared Sullinger isn't declaring this year.

Wow, completely forgot about Washington. They would almost certainly pick someone else or trade it.

I honestly was wondering this, b/c I know fate is going to make him available when Minny picks. I will fall out laughing if Minny picks another PG unless Kahn wises up and tades Rubio before the draft.

Well, things are looking good. The Morris twins just declared and the taller of the two might be there around our pick (as a F, not C). All the good centers will be gone. Might be a pg there, but this draft is all F's.

I think a few other noteworthy people declared, so it's looking like this will be a good draft. I guess if too many players pulled out the problem would be that next year many of those players would go much much later in the draft which would SUBSTANTIALLY lower their $$$. So, it's better to take a chance this year (money wise) with the CBA/lockout.

Some interesting scenarios for sure. Now I'm not sure how Rubio would fit in with us if available as we really need a pg who can score due to our two ISO stars. Douglas is actually pretty much what we need, he just needs to tune up.

This is the most important draft for us in a while, and will be for the next few years considering our lack of picks (and better talent - lower picks).

Jonas Valanciunas and Donatas Motiejunas might be available around our pick. Both around 7ft. Both from Lithuania. And both with a pretty good jump shot. Just not sure if they are exactly NBA ready.

I don't know, the couple of mocks I can find all have these two going top 10.

It's always been his goal to start 5PGs and have 3 off the bench. He is halfway there.

What would they want back? Thisyear's draft isn't as highly regarded as most.

I don't know, but since they already have Wall and Irving is clearly the best player in the draft, they would at least listen to offers.

We should try to get him, not sure if he is as good as advertised, seen him play very little. Then we can spend some money on a C

Kemba Walker declared Monday for the draft according to espn and Chris Singleton is scheduled to declare his intentions Wednesday according to the Tallahassee Democrat.

We should trade this pick for someone that can help us next year.
