On PTI yesterday they said that the Knicks and Blazers are talking and a trade might go down its not final but they're only talking for the moment. The guys said that they were talking about........

Keith Van Horn for Rasheed Wallace

I really want Rasheed here but I don't think the Blazers will take Van Horn's huge contract when they said that they don't want any more big contracts. I think if Portland trades Sheed they will trade him to Golden State for Van Exel and Dampier, but hey you never know. Either way I hope we get him.

An NBA source says that the Knicks would be willing to trade any of their players other than Stephon Marbury, Allan Houston or Keith Van Horn for Wallace. However, the Knicks believe they may be able to acquire Wallace this summer with the midlevel salary-cap exception and, thus, wouldn't have to trade any of their players to Portland -- most notably forward Kurt Thomas.

Not sure if PTI guys are telling the truth or if the NBA Source is wrong. I'm confused.

Maybe once statement is more recent than the other.

I'm a little confused too, because I thought that Isiah didn't want to trade KT but would be willing to trade KVH. Guess we'll just have to wait and see...

The article that this quote came from on ESPN.com also said Sheed turned down a 4yr 40 mil contract offer from portland. For a while I thought sheed was just blowing smoke saying he would sign with NY for the MLE but now Im not so sure. He turned down that contract and I doubt he will see that kinda $ as a FA. Maybe it isnt all about the $$ for Sheed?

Why wouldn't sheed do what weber did in sac-town , tlk about how bad he wanted out then sign with them when it was time to do so. Also sheed might want to go to his home town Philly and play with the sixers.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I think Sheed will be dealt by the time the trading deadline comes. I have a feeling that the Knicks will land him by the deadline (though I would rather have them sign him for the MLE). Portland will not let Rasheed go for nothing, they will trade him to either Golden State or us.

I think KVH for Rasheed would be a good deal, for the Knicks. I don't know if it works salary wise, but I would definetly hope Isiah knows to do that if its possible.

I think we would have to add another player like Shandon to make it work financially.

You're dreaming if you think Portland will take KVH and Anderson there is no way they want that much salary long term
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

I don't think Portland would take them both, I'm just saying that to make the deal work financially you would need Anderson in there with KVH.

Or the Knicks could do KVH and Doleac for Sheed. That works financially and has a better chance of happening than KVH and Anderson.

Sheed is not playing for the knicks this season, stop the madness. Blazers don't want bad salary contracts+ they must match up too.

There is a "50-50" chance Nick Vanexcel will be dealt before the Fed. 19 deadline. Van Exel, who is on the injured list with a sore knee, could be packaged with center Erick Dampier in a deal that would send Rasheed Wallace to the Warriors.

Hello Port. wants to clean there image so why would they wanna trade for VanExel, didnt he toss a ref to the scorer's table in a game.lol.Um KVH been playing outstanding ball and is showing that he can contribute like that for a long run.So KVH and Sheed trade sounds good.KVH would help spark Port. like he is doing with the Knicks.Portland could get back the way things use to be.Him and Randolph would be great together.Along with Anderson etc....Rasheed is not going to pull that C*** WEBB move,he is gone from Portland.SO the KNICKS have a solid chance to bring him to NY.
