Monday the garden was chanting the "winner" but the game was still in question and the last 10 games have not been exactly great.

NY loves a winner, wants to win, but its not always compatable.

Reggie Jax was a winner in Oakland, and was a "winner", then delivered.

Few Have come and delivered. Mark Messier, Joe Namath, Reggie, A-Rod, Ewing (elevated the franchise), and Riley (also elevated)

Few have come and turned it around or won championships in NY. We love a star story but Melo got a big burden to lift.

I give him 3 years to judge but with the need to sell tickets and ad space the teams really do pump up these guys to god like status and it usually becomes the "Beast of Burden"!

IMO Melo is more than capable of helping us win a title, but I never expected him to actually win a title for us. This is gonna be about building a team around STAT and Melo. Neither of these guys is gonna get us confused with KG and Kobe, but if you put the right pieces around these guys you can compete for a title. Tonight our big 3 stepped up on offense. Melo stepped up on D. This bodes well for the playoffs. If we can get STAT healthy for the playoffs, he'll be able to go hard again. The closer we get STAT to playing like he did to start the year the better. Right now our magic number is 3 to clinch a playoff birth. We should be able to get that in time to give STAT a good rest.
