Everyone was on board with the plan, it made sense and more importantly it was working. Donnie delivered a growing team with talent at every position. It was fun to watch Knicks basketball again. Flexibility, talent, pride, NY Basketball was returning.
But, then Dolan had other ideas and like most basketball decisions he did what he thought was best and destroyed the Franchise again. We have little depth and it’s going to be hard to add the right pieces. So what if we never cleared cap room. How would that team look?
Dolan is willing to pay the luxury tax. We resign David Lee, we keep Zach Randolph. Jamal Crawford is still a knick and more importantly we still have Fields, Douglas, Chandler and Gallo. The Jordan Hill doesn’t happen as the Knicks are fighting for a playoff spot and likely land in the Holliday/Lawson range.
Crawford(expiring)/Draft pick likely Holiday or Lawson
Fields/Douglas
Gallo/Chandler
Randolph
Lee/Jefferies
Remember we were 5-2 when we traded the roster and that was before Gallo or Chandler's games came into there into there own. It sounds crazy, but that team is more talented and just as strong long term as our roster now. For all the MVP talk early we are a below .500 team. Zach (20pts 12rbs 2ass) and Amare (26pts 8rbs 2.5 ass).
