Some thing one game is a good indicator of how a team is progressing - Indiana of last week - but this next week may be a better indication of how the Knicks are coming together. 3 days practice, Miami (win) and Clips back-to-back, and then back-to-back on the road.

I say...

3-1 or better and that's a good sign.
2-2 with 2 wins at home and you can't tell.
2-2 with 1 win on the road and you may have to decide game-by-game.
anything less and we should start to hope Hou gets better real soon.

The Knicks are definitely coming together right now. I'd say 2-2 only because New Orleans and Dallas are tough for anyone, and the Clippers could pose problems in their place. Still, that should not be a signal that this team is not for real. I think they've certainly proven now that they are for real. They haven't played this well for a long stretch in almost 5 years.

My guess is that there will be another trade by the deadline. If so, it will be interesting to see how it effects team chemistry.

Starbury matching up with the Baron/NO will be interesting and probably a better game than Dallas. Nevertheless, beating these teams gives us better credibility compared to beating teams below .500........you'll be surprise how many fans come out of the closet on the next two wins.

Wizards won last two, WOW. Stackhouse and Arenas are back, and with Hughes at the 2, and Blake & Dixon off the bench gives our backcourt a serious run. Arenas made guarantee for Wizards to make playoffs. And with Uncle Ernie salivating at the front office, Wiz are off and running as a good longshot

I seriously doubt we can beat Dallas or NO at this point. A 1-1 over the next 2 will make me very happy but a 0-2 wont kill me.

Dallas has been about as hot as any other team lately... however, they play Atlanta on Monday, then have to fly home to Dallas for the Tuesday game against the Knicks. This is an opportunity to avenge our OT loss last month.

What's so great about the big bad Hornets? We'll be a huge disadvantage this coming Wednesday, Feb 11th--- they don't play until then, and they're at home. We'll be coming off our flight/game from Dallas. However, they've had some injury woes lately and are only 7-12 in 2004. They're vulnerable, regardless.

WHO'S THE GM THERE, IS IT ERNIE GRUNFELD
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.
