just a month or so ago we had one of the youngest teams in the league, ton of quality ballers, cap flexibility, a winning record, feeling good.

and now, this.

i just can't really wrap my mind around it. it's surreal.

i got back into knicks hoops after the isiah years with a lot of hope. you know, i watched those david lee teams lose, and it was fun.

i watched our team this year, finally, start to break through. they were balling hard, running through the league.

then, the traded rumors. morale suffered. and we still managed to have a winning record. and now, look. just look.

2011-2019, rest in peace, another knicks decade buried.

WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

If Walsh can find some role players, I have no doubt this team will be a contender. It has too much talent not to be. We just need 1 or 2 key guys to fill in what we are missing. Also, am starting to think we need a different coach.

What use is there to cry about the past. We can't undo what we did, the best we can hope for is to find new pieces to surround our stars with the right players. We did it the past offseason, because some fail to see that Felton and Mozgov were free-agent signings. We can get new players, we just have to be creative. Hopefully Walsh will still be here, though I'm not that confident he will be back.

We're over the cap. Only free agents we can get would be MLE or Vet min types. Assuming the new CBA still allows those.

We have a ton of money coming off the books. The big question is what to do with Billups. I don't see the Knicks picking up the option at that price. We shall see........

I agree. I've always supported Mike, but how do you not adjust and find a way to win with 2 star players? I mean, not even 500 ball? I'm sorry but thats just sad. I can seriously draw up plays and do a better job. It's like Mike cant figure out how to get both involved at the same time. He just lets them iso, which isn't horrible, but when your shot isn't falling you take it to the hole, especially when your name is Amare or Carmelo. Do some coaching, coach!

How are we over? We should have around 10-15 million free depending on the new cba and which options are accepted/declined. (Assuming we buy out Billups)

That's it exactly. We're over if we don't buy out Billups. I don't think that'll happen.

Funny how all this happens with Amare as soon as the trade is made though, huh?

When the trade was first made, his FG % and scoring went up. He looks shot recently.

Kobe before Jackson was still coming up. His first three years with Shaq, which were the years before PhilJax, he dropped 7, 15, and 19 points per game.

They also had Eddie Jones and then Glen Rice, and a bunch of good role players - including our old Derek Harper, Derek Fisher, Horry, Rick Fox - the same guys who dominated the next year. I'm just saying this ugly ball could be pretty ball someday. I hate losing the way we are but it might come up roses.

Yes, true. And they were 31-19 in that lock out year, 4th in the West. Not total suck.

I dont know what people are talking about. This is the best cap situation we have ever been in. The only long term commitments we have are to 2 stars. How many other teams can say the same thing? Miami definitely can't. They have the terrible contracts of Mike Miller just for starters. We have the unique opportunity to hand-pick the role players we want to put around Melo and Stat over the next couple of years. How could it get any better? Again, the negativity is just puzzling.

Coaching aside, this is the key to this team, getting those right role players. And we have the chance to do that because we are only committed long-term to our two star players. We couldn't be better off.

No making sense allowed 2012/2013 the Knicks are locked into STAT, Melo, Balkman and whoever we draft this summer. They also have an option for a little over $2 million on TD. These guys are supposed to want others to come here and play, we shall see but I'm confident.
