Baby Steps

Nice to see more balanced scoring but...you gotta get stops.

This appears to be building towards a Spring collapse of historic proportions. We're talking 1964 Philadelphia Phillies blowing a sure pennant. We're talking New York Mets blowing a seven game lead in two weeks. We're talking the crash of the Hindenburg.

Is Walsh still contemplating his contract extension, or is he done with the frustration of having his work overwritten with spray paint?

He could easily retire and put his feet up some place comfortable.

Oh the humanity!

What is Donnie Walsh thinking about?

If its not about firing D'antoni, he's a fool himself.

Exiting out the back door of MSG and going back to his farm in Indiana, far away from Dolan, Isiah and the rest of the circus.

Losing is not a mystery.

This squad barely shoots 40 per cent from the field.

There is little defensive resistance.

Our intimidation factor is about -17

I've got a bad feeling about this.

"They wouldn't let Donnie build the team the way he wanted to build it," said a long-time associate. "So why would he want to stay?"

"Walsh did the heaviest work, pushing the boulder up the mountain, by fixing the salary-cap problems that started with Dave Checketts and Scott Layden and turned into an unmitigated disaster during Thomas' official reign. Getting the Knicks from this precarious stage, with Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire and a weak, undersized supporting group, to a championship contender is not going to be easy, even if Walsh somehow returns."

"Without him, they're sunk."

He has to think that this nonsense isn't worth it. My guess is he finishes out his contract and either goes back to the Pacers or retires. Once he is gone D'Antoni is toast if he isn't gone before Walsh.

We don't deserve him. Nobody in this organization deserves him. He has probably been the best thing we've had the past 3 years. He did his job and just when he was close to consummating it, the trade happened prematurely and now everything seems to be falling down. Donnie may be gone, D'Antoni may be gone, most of our youth is already gone, along with most of our assets, and we have less flexibility. What remains?

I'm willing to let go of Walsh if it means D'antoni instantly getting fired.

Yeah Walsh is rounding up his boys(Mullin and possibly Warkentein) to return to Indiana and restore order....

Wouldn't be surprised at the return and then possibly him hiring Mike Brown and retaining Vogel as a lead assistant.

The situation here is going to go from Volcanic to Earthquake to Tsunami to Hurricane.....might as well get move on while he can.

He is part to blame though but there are others more at fault

Get ready for the return of IT.

The trifecta of mda, IT and JD(and the straight shot). We'll have clueless, rally cluesless and arrogant and superchump running the show.

He's thinking, "Maybe I shouldn't have included Chandler in that trade"

I hope he finds a better situation for himself. He deserves better.

He thinking, this is what I warned Dolan could happen. Donnie didn't want to send all those guys away and he and Mike said that over and over before the trade. So Dolan is the one that has to look in the mirror. Still the overall plan is to continue to upgrade the roster and I think Donnie will be given a chance to finish the job. This is just the beginning with this new core. Donnie should get a chance to build around it. I felt that way before the losing streak and nothing's changed.

No I don't think Donnie or anyone would call Mike A HOF caliber coach, but he's a good coach and deserves a chance to coach a season without half the team being traded.

I'm so happy the Knicks have gone back to being overpaid, incompetent losers again. Now that they're under .500, I can start posting again. They might even miss the playoffs! Now if they could just get some kind of sex scandal going....

There is a rumor someone in China bought a ticket back to NY and is bringing his truck with him.
