Could this be our new starting lineup?

PG- Douglas
SG- Billups
SF- Anthony
PF- Amar'e
C- Turiaf

And this the bench?

PG- Carter
SG- Mason
SG/SF- Fields
SF/PF- Shawne Williams
F/C- Jeffries

It seems so considering this article:

Jennings dominated the Knicks so thoroughly that after a 23-point first half, coach Mike D'Antoni started Toney Douglas alongside Billups in the third quarter and sat Landry Fields. Douglas is a quicker defender than Billups.

Fields said D'Antoni told him Douglas was going to start at point guard in the third quarter and Billups would play two-guard.

D'Antoni said he was considering lineup changes. Presumably, the starting switch would be Douglas for Fields. Fields said he would be OK if that happens because he just wants to win.

As someone who suggested getting Douglas back into the starting lineup, this is an intriguing change. Billups is lost organizing the offense but he is still a nice shooter and scorer. He has shown terrible shot selection lately, so for this to be a positive change, he needs to be smart shooting. Douglas, while not exactly a great offense orchestrator, knows the system better and thrived in the starting lineup before. Carter, after a few DNP-CD's, came back tonight playing a solid backup PG for 18 minutes and runs a team well. It seems he will be the backup PG.

Right now, Fields may be better suited in the bench and hopefully he will be able to score more because we need his contribution.

With negativity looming everywhere, this lineup change could possibly help us immensely in turning our fortunes around. Now, if we could pick up Barron, the backup C would look better, especially with Turiaf not playing many minutes...

If Amar'e wasn't so worn down- I bet MDA would love to play he and Melo up front at the 4 & 5 and have Fields at the 3 and Douglas and Billups in the back court.

That lineup would get chewed to death in the pits... sorry.

Of course Landry was sat, he had 7 (3-5) and 5 rebounds in 22 minutes. While the improvement Billups who in 34 minutes was 3-11 for 7 points, 4 assists and 1 rebound. He also had the lowest +- on the team at -14. (Landry had the best of the starters).

Welcome guys, things are actually going to get worse now. Wait, has Isiah and D'Antoni ever been sighted at the same place and time? I'm talking Tootsie here...

It would be nice to move Anthony Randolph to the starting lineup

needs a shooting 4 if he runs pick/roll a lot but I agree it is not my desired line up but it is what it is.

I agree but I also think that D'Antoni would like to go with it.

Rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic

G- Douglas, absolutely cannot be trusted with decision making
G- Billups, playing like he is 56 years old
F- Anthony, undecided how to please the masses, he will eventually say "bump it, just gimme the damn ball!"
F- Amar'e, playing on fumes because he had little help inside
C - immediate vacancy, help wanted

Reserves

C- see above
F- Turiaf, good for about 8 minutes of occupying space
G- Fields, learning as he goes, his third year will be fun to watch
F- Shawne Williams, needs another spot on the floor to depend on his offense from

The Big Drop Off

G- Carter, a spark plug better served as a mentor
G- Mason, one dimensional on offense and no dimensional on defense because he has no lateral quicks after all the surgeries
F- Jeffries, no comment

No matter which way you slice it the Knicks are missing a center and have a homesick lead guard.

That is never a good combination.

As with the Titanic, the only thing that could save us would be a more modest course.

If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

I'll remind you misterearl that the Knicks were winners while Douglas started point.

Pg Douglas
Sg Billups
SF Fields
Pf Shaun Williams
C Amare
Bench: Melo, Carter, Turiaf

No more Billups at pg. He's too slow. Play Melo off bench for 30 mins like we did Spree when has new.

That's what I would do. Good message.

Remind me again why we signed Jared Jeffries. Crystal Turiaf out again (this guy is ridiculously fragile), Jeffries' return has been all but a waste, Sheldon Williams is sporadically used against D'Antoni's will and a tired and spent Amar'e has to again be used as a center, yet we have no need to sign a center like Barron?

This is ridiculous.
