![]() It's true, arkrud, and I touched on this in one of my earlier threads, which you can find here http://ultimateknicks.com/forum/topic.asp?t=38677
Talking pure hoops, the Knicks are not the place to be right now as a fan. The focus isn't on the game but the commercial spit shine around it. And rightfully so, I'm not here to discuss what's right what's wrong, my heart doesn't bleed for this. You have a business to run and you run it. The Knicks are a very successful franchise from a cash money perspective and there's no arguing that. So, if you're into the hoops game, if you enjoy basketball in a purer form, this isn't the team for you. What makes it difficult is that, like in the case of this forum, relationships have already been built and developed based on the individuals being fans of the Knicks. You're talking years here. The way I see the situation, with the Nets coming up and moving into the area and building to win instead of just to sell jerseys, the Knicks will have to come down to earth sometime this decade and focus on basketball again. There will be a point where they won't be able to ride Manhattan for a sure dollar. Or there might not be. But certainly the Nets coming into the area, and bringing the heat, offering a better product, will have some effect on how the Knicks conduct their basketball team and their business. WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.
