Watching Delfino flop his way to several calls & be given 3 or 4 more anytime anyone even put their hand in the vicinity of his body (or breathed on him, let me know that the the biggest asset we lost in the trade was the "Euro Factor".

Gallo (& to a lesser extent the Moz) was an experienced flopper that knew how to over exaggerate contact like the best soccer players do to draw the attention of the refs, inducing them to blow their whistles more frequently.

Melo on the other hand with his Baltimore swagger is never going to get those calls because he will never get empathy from refs that don't see themselves in him. It's sad that its this way but as long as the human factor exists in refereeing there will always be these sort of judgment calls being made.

expect when Shane Battier is D'ing him up along the sideling and gives him a slight nudge, then Melo will fall out of bounds to collect the foul, and smirk to the camera for good measure

That same baltimore 'swagger' that saw him throw a sissy punch and then run away from nate robinson clear across the court.

I see you soccer comment man but seriously Carlos Delfino is from Argentina. Thus he is... yes South American which is not Europe by any means...

I'm not sure why Carmelo isn't getting calls. He was getting calls in Denver that he hasn't gotten here yet. Then again you aren't gonna get a call when you force the action as much as he has in the last two games with some of the moves down the stretch.

I wonder where and how you would be living if it were not for the 'Euro Factor'.

wow indeed. there's only one thing to say here: Impossible to keep it up. Will attempt thinking of sprewell, Houston and LJ giving it to Pacers and rehggie. Possible.

Balvenie is an excellent Single Malt but I prefer Glenmorangie

Probably free & without the historical degradation of patriarchy & colonialism.

PS - word to the wise...don't enter an academic gunfight when you're packing a .22 & the other guy has a Howitzer, you mental effin midget (my apologies to any vertically challenged members of the UK Family)

i was at the garden for the draft when vlade was selected. i don't know if anyone had seen a euro player at the draft before then. he had on the rattiest most god-awful suit - i think it was brown corduroy. some half-knotted tie. few days stubble. mofo was smoking. f'g smoking! people were hooting at him big-time! quite a moment in time captured.

little to do with the borders; everything to do with the author and his chronic undertones
