Billups is known as a good defensive player, has been an all defensive team selection twice and was credited with getting the Nuggets to play hard nosed defense. This is the second post tonight that I have read where an all defense guy was put in the same sentence with two of the worst defenders in the league. Where is this coming from?
Dude the clock is past detroit...
Before the trade deadline there was some talk about Billups going to Miami. He was looked at as the perfect fit for several reasons. He hits the three, he is a tremendous leader, he has great b-ball iq, and he plays good defense and is physical with other teams playmakers. I am not sure why you lump a guy in with Amare and Melo who is known as a good defender, considered the guy that got Denver to play good defense when they went to the finals and was sought out by other teams in part because of his defense. From what I have read, the one thing that frustrated Billups about Denver was their lack of defensive focus. I think you were are way off here. A two time all defense, finals mvp knows how to play ball on both sides of the court. Again, I am not sure how he gets lumped in with two of the worst defenders in the league.
