Been hearing Doc Rivers as Knicks coach by guys who are usually in the know that last few weeks...Also hearing rumors of Doc stepping down at the end of the season to spend more time with family...KG is a FA in 2012...

If Doc Rivers can become the coach this summer that would be great. I don't think I could take watching another season of D'Antoni basketball until we get a new coach.

He will not change amare/melo/billups to play defense when they are not defensive players (billips due to wear and tear) and the rest being known in league as not defensive players.

Billups is known as a good defensive player, has been an all defensive team selection twice and was credited with getting the Nuggets to play hard nosed defense. This is the second post tonight that I have read where an all defense guy was put in the same sentence with two of the worst defenders in the league. Where is this coming from?

I'm down for Adelman. At least he admits the defense is bad when it really is.

Doc will prob retire after this year and take a year off to watch his kid play ball in college. I bet he'll pay attention to where Dwight Howard ends up playing after summer 2012.

And he will also keep eye on Miami.

The top coaches are starting to learn from the example of Phil and Doc. They are also going to follow the path of the players who are ganging together to win. Top Coaches now are wanting to do like Phil and only look to take jobs with teams that are stacked. Doc won't come back for just any job. It'll have to be a team that's ready to win big.

I personally think that coaches are the least of a franchises issues. You start with a great GM and great talent on your roster and just about any coach is going to win with that. With a great coach you can gain a few more wins per season and some playoff games that can put you over the top. It's 95% talent and the rest is the coach.

Before the trade deadline there was some talk about Billups going to Miami. He was looked at as the perfect fit for several reasons. He hits the three, he is a tremendous leader, he has great b-ball iq, and he plays good defense and is physical with other teams playmakers. I am not sure why you lump a guy in with Amare and Melo who is known as a good defender, considered the guy that got Denver to play good defense when they went to the finals and was sought out by other teams in part because of his defense. From what I have read, the one thing that frustrated Billups about Denver was their lack of defensive focus. I think you were are way off here. A two time all defense, finals mvp knows how to play ball on both sides of the court. Again, I am not sure how he gets lumped in with two of the worst defenders in the league.
