![]() I think it is important to cool down the expectations.
Melo in no James, and Billups in no Wade. And scrubs and rookies are scrubs and rookies. Stat will not get new legs and Tony will not grow more brain. Walsh will not get younger and Dolan will not get smarter. And yes... tickets will not get chipper... "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy." ![]() 9-2....Watched denver take apart Atlanta. No Mozzy and no Gallo but Wil played great and Felton is their man now.
Ball movement is excellent as is defense. they are very deep now. Knicks will get it together. Trades are tough. Whats done is done for better or worse. |

![]() Denver is giving 10....I repeat 10, points per game less than they were before the trade. That is funny since they are doing it with former Knicks. Who knew they could play Defense?
That being said, this is not a complete roster right now. We need to reserve judgement until next year on the trade and the coach. Let's see what they can do to make it right. |

Who knew they could play Defense? IMO it is the least of our problems. You think that if we had Dwight Howard that it would matter that much what Mike said to do on D? You don't think we'd defend and rebound better? How about just Verajao? Heck even Dalembert! We don't have anyone like that and we need it. When it comes to D, it's more about effort than schemes. Neither Amar'e nor Melo have really been terrors on D and that's with other coaches, so how is that Mike's fault? Spoelstra has all that Talent and defensive approach and yet they still have issues. I bet if you gave Mike that team they'd still play D, but the offense would be a whole lot better. |

We're basically melding 2 different styles and it's not easy to find a balance on D with guys who historically aren't that good defensively. I think it's still a bit soon to pass final judgment on this group. Just one correction. IIRC, most people said 10-15. We're basically there. My main concerns are the PG position and C position. My main concern at PG comes from the fact that we can't be a running team so much with Billups running point, and that's MDA's strength. Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I think it's still a bit soon to pass final judgment on this group. I think the 17 game point came from the Heats struggles early on. As for the PG, this system is still potent even without running at every turn. It's not necessary to run as it is to play with pace. We can still do that. The stats prove that this offense is still potent. Rebounding and interior defense is a huge issue. Perimeter D is also an issue when it comes to keeping quicker guards from getting off. |

![]() We need to do the following for next year:
try to sign Billups cheaper - -make the deal before we buy him out and tell him the only way we can upgrade our roster is to sign him for 6MM instead of 14MM - -if he doesn't want it -- let him go and draft Kemba or Jimmer. use the Cap space to upgrade the center position and a sharp shooter at the 2 guard |

Who knew they could play Defense? This is an indictment of our coach. Pringles needs to either get a defensive assistant or go. This decision should be made during the off season. I can't see him getting a defensive assistant cause it would be perceived as his replacement. No coach wants that. Bring back dee-fense

![]() The boring truth is that we need to be patient - both for Billups to pick up the offense and the team to learn how to play together.
And, probably in the larger sense, we need to be patient to re-stock the roster a little bit this summer. ¿ △ ?

We are short four rotation players. The shopping list includes two 6'11 centers, a 6'9 power forward with some lean muscle and a 6'3 guard with leadership potential. Piece of cake. once a knick always a knick
