Massive tsunamis are to follow, which will effect other Asian countries and have already effected Hawaii.

From what I heard elsewhere, hundreds of bodys were found off the coast where the tsunami was in Japan, but only 88 accounted for.

This is bad and ugly and my prayers are out to everyone effected by this.

My prayers goes out to Japan. I have been following this all morning. My family in the Philippines looks like they might have dodged a big one. 4 waves hit the coastal provinces ranging from .40 to .60 meters.

CNN is reporting that Crescent City, CA is going to see 10 ft waves in an hour or so. San Fransisco might get 6-7foot waves.

Unbelieveable..Truly..I saw footage this morning -- how far did the wave wind up making it inland? It looked like there was only farmland close to the beach thank God..Hopefully that first neighborhood was spared..Anyone know? In the clip I saw there was one car cruising down a big hwy running parallel to the beach as the water was making its way in -- imagine being in that car looking at that coming your way..WOW. I can only pray casualties and property damage was kept to a minimum.

I am watching CNN right now and they are showing the water inland all the way to the farmland. Not good.

Houses were being sweapt away from those floods. I don't have CNN on right now, but I hope it's at least starting to calm down.

They are so prepared for this as most of the architecture build since the 60's is done to withstand heavy earthquake.

these pictures look like old Japaneese disaster film images.

The earth swallows its surface.

Puts it all in perspective sometimes. Glad we can help them.

When I saw these images the first thing I can think off was how this looked like the 2012 movie.

A second earthquake struck a jittery Japan late Friday as the country reeled from an earlier temblor and tsunami that killed hundreds and caused a nuclear crisis.

The epicenter of the second quake was in central Japan and measured 6.6 on the Richter scale; the earlier one originated off the northeast coast.

The first quake, an 8.9 magnitude, unleashed a 30-foot wall of water that struck cities and farmland - sweeping up homes, cars and boats and sparking ferocious, uncontrollable fires.

Police said up to 300 bodies washed up in the coastal port city of Sendai. A train and a ship vanished, and the fate of those passengers was unknown.

The Japanese government declared a nuclear power emergency after at least one plant caught fire and thousands of residents were forced to evacuate their homes near another where the cooling system failed.

Vehicles and huge chunks of debris caught up in the fast-moving wave of black water crashed through streets, obliterating everything in their path.

President Obama offered condolences and support to the Japanese people during this "time of great trial."

That is awful. Just awful.

I'm hoping for the least amount of deaths possible in this tragedy.

Hopefully the quakes are over with and they can begin getting help ASAP.

This is part of the Pacific Rim. been a lot of activity of late. This is a terrible tragedy and there was a report that Japan might release some steam that might be radioactive as they try to cool a reactor down. That was around noon

when you perceive all the violence and tragedy world wide it is important have perspective. This will likely affect us far less than things like the Afghan/Iran debacle or the violence in the Middle East. OTOH no idea how big this reactor is.

Whether you believe in God or not things beyond your ability to change you should not fret about. Change instead what you can. And choose wisely. Any thing else is unhealthy in the least.

Wow, so because I can't change it and it doesn't directly affect me or rais oil prices, I shouldn't care about all those people suffering this type of tragedy? I am sorry I messed up your precious thread, but please keep the lecturing to yourself.
