I agree doubtful it'll be upheld..Nonsense call..Bennett Salvatore too..WTF..Dude's been around forever..He knows what the F we're up against with Amar'e and his next tech..How the F does he make that call?? Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd ever thank Kevin McHale for anything but he was just outspoken on the broadcast about it being rescinded..That may hold a little weight with Stern, who I'm sure is watching this game..I'm glad he said that..Amar'e's gotta be careful now..Just shut up and play ball..He gets hit with another one then he leaves them no choice..

Hilarious how stars get treated these days. I just remember when MJ used to scream at the refs every other play and they did NOTHING!!

If the tech sticks then he is suspended for 1 game. Then he is allowed up to 3 techs again I think.

correct. so assuming it gets upheld, every other tech yields a suspension.

what I don't know is does that apply to just the regular season, or the postseason too?

Technical fouls 1-5: $1,000 fine for each tech

Technical fouls 6-10: $1,500 fine for each tech

Technical fouls 11-15: $2,000 fine for each tech (with a warning letter sent once the 12th tech is reached)

Technical foul 16: $2,500 fine plus a one-game suspension

Each additional technical foul: $2,500 fine

Each two additional technical fouls (the 18th, 20th, 22nd, etc.): $2,500 fine plus one-game suspension

Yeah but he has to stop bitching. He should get more calls but the reason I think he doesn't is because he rarely beats his man completely. Alot of his shots that he hits on the drive are really tough shots. I think you get more calls when a beaten defender reaches. He has been looking a little slow on his drives lately - I am kinda rooting for him to just take the (semi-automatic) jump shot.

I am actually quite impressed with Melo finding that he is playing more of a team game than STAT even Melo is always accused of being a ball stopper. I find that STAT does it more and worse. He needs to do a better job of passing out of the double team (which Melo is doing).

And, Anthony is a far better rebounder than STAT (based on positioning / expectations)

At some point does it make sense to try to schedule the suspension? Go ahead and take 16th and get the suspension over with for a less crucial game (whatever that may be), rather than taking the chance of having it come at a vital time?

everyone bitches... look at the top tech foul getters in the NBA.. they are all stars. We have 3. Its Amare, Dwight, Billups, MElo and Kobe... someone look it up. Its pretty funny

And I sure hope Amar'e learned his lesson about this, for next season. This was unnescessary.

It's actually funny, because I remember after a preseason game, before this season, he said he loved how refs were being more tight on the players and how they were handing out more technicals. I guess he really meant to say that he loves technicals and paying fines that total to more than most peoples yearly salaries.
