Seems he canned his SSOL and modified the offense too fit the personnel.

Props to D'Antoni for not sticking to his "system".

MDA has adapted to his personnel in the last 2.5 years. Before every trade, he has his team playing SSOL and then after the trade he uses the scheme that the new roster will have more success with. They say he doesn't play yoots but we know that is not true. They say he does not coach defense but his defensive schemes right now is helping us win.

MDA is a very good coach.

I refuse to give props to a coach who does what he is hired to do. No coach should stubbornly stick to one particular system, and a non-proven way to win championships at that.

I think he is the best coach the Knicks have had since Riley but I am sure many here would disagree.

I am taking into account more than schemes and players put on the court - the guy has had to deal with several massive roster overhauls and working to resuscitate a dead franchise. Nobody wanted to come play here and now we have two stars. Sure Donnie W also played a big role in that but without a guy like D'Antoni at the helm I don't think we get those stars.

Do you think Amare or Melo would be here if we still had (no disrespect to the first two on this list): Don Chaney, Lenny Wilkins, Larry Brown, or Isiah Thomas?

Don and Lenny were nice guys, while Brown and Zeke were both train wrecks. We now have a top tier guy who has top tier talent on his roster. We may need a couple more pieces but we are headed in the right direction.

Mike should get props for doing a good job. They said that Melo couldn't or wouldn't play team ball and Mike seems to have had no problems getting him to fit right in. He's been giving out assists like they're skittles. He's really improved the defensive approach and brought back the zone, which has been effective. Most of our role players before and after the trade have thrived here under MDA.

They say he doesn't develop young players, but almost every young player we have has shown improvement playing here. The Triangle offense was unproven before the Bulls won a title, so what's the point? His BB knowledge runs deeper than SSOL and now the doubters are getting to see that.

MDA is doing a good job and he deserves props for that. People say he won't play defenders - he plays Jeffries. People say he won't change his offense - he's changed it to fit the team he has here. People say he won't play kids - Landry Fields has started every game, he's working with Toney and he did a lot of work with Wilson, Gallo and Mozgov.

I think he's just been in a situation where he didn't like the attitude or work ethic of a few guys - notably Jordan Hill and Anthony Randolph and people have hopes and dreams pinned on these kids and they skewer him for that.

I think MDA is the best coach we've had here since JVG. I like Lenny Wilkens a lot, too, so maybe it's unfair to say he's better than Lenny.

man I really dig every word here. Wilkins was a good coach and a true PRO. MDA has been nothing but here, and he's done a very good job. Made some mistakes but also fixed more. This team plays hard and plays together. These players play happpy and motivated. There appears to be good comradere on the court... these are all things bad coaches get blamed for and MDA deserves part of the credit here.

I agree! D'Antoni is a coach that knows how to handle star players.

He is good with the media and players seem to like him.

We are def going in a good direction, hoping it takes us to the lovely gold below.

Glad he is getting some props.

As long as they win, he looks good.

Mike is no fool. With 2 superstars on the team and 1 almost superstar he better do whats right because all Melo and Amare would have to do is complain and he would be gone. Thats why he changed his system. Not that he wanted to but he had no choice if he wanted to stay here.
