Anyone see the post game? Someone asked him if the Knicks could win this game with the team they had before the trade. Amare said that team won big games against elite teams and YES, those guys were good players and that team could have won that game.

I hope this guy stays healthy for years to come... he's a great leader and great team guy and sets the example with hard work and being a classy pro.

Agreed! I wanted the Knicks to get Amare over the summer but I had no idea what we were getting! I thought all we were getting an explosive PF. Dude is so much more. A straight up leader of men. Not only that, he also leads the league in 4th quarter points scored, scoring when it matters.

"A straight up leader of men"

yea man... he really is. Great phrase. I think he can even make Melo better here.

Just stay healthy... I cant think of a better guy to lead this franchise for the next 5 (hopefully more) years.

Phuck Bosh. I was the guy who said I would rather have Lee at $10mm then Bosh at $17mm and I stick to that. I will take the whitebread wonder with the matador-D over the big cry baby 8 days a week.

My god... if the rumors where half true we could have been built around Joe Johnson and Bosh.

absolutely agree with you. prior to this year i had been guilty of calling STAT a compiler in phoenix and he had a bad rep around here (and the league) as being someone who just got his and didn't care much about anything else. it's been the total absolute opposite, he's proven to be an amazing leader and his fingerprints are now all over this franchise. it's great to have a guy like him around.

last year Amare was the best player in the NBA for the 2nd half of the year. He really carried the team and when the Suns started to fade a bit he stepped up and put them on his back night after night. The ONLY downside to us getting him was the health scare, but he's very light and carries zero extra weight and is dedicated to having a perfect body so if anyone can stay healthy and strong its him.

dang, I almost interpreted that as Amare saying, "Yeah we could have won this game with or WITHOUT Carmelo."

but I see fishmike's point.

thats the thing.. it was almost like he was baited to either saying that or taking a shot at this old teammates and he did neither. He gave his old teammates credit for winning some big games and didnt bite.

STAT's a ****y dude, but he backs it up and responsibility always starts with himself first.

It's amazing how well this has turned out thus far. Amare has said all the right things off the court. On the court I always knew he had a killer inside game but I never thought his mid-far range would be as good as they are. Bosh has bascially morphed into a jump shooter in Miami who occasionally has a good game. He whines and really doesn't do much that Wade or Lebron don't already do for that Miami team.
