Layden should have drafted him over Frank Williams.

Carlos Boozer was drafted one pick before we picked Milos.

I too lamented over that one, but it has taken Carlos 2 seasons to emerge and develope with playing time.

That sort of thing never happens here. One thing that has not changed with Thomas now in charge, I don't see rookies developing. Not that we need to worry about that now. Frank is now in the back burner, and Sweet is just hanging on. Lampe could have the best potential, but is still years away. Since I don't trust anything Isiah says, who knows whether his work ethic was that bad, or Isiah labeling a crowd favorite? Remember the draft and the love of Lampe?

Its relevent to developing youth. Carlos would not be Carlos as a Knick. I hope he gets some nice money. Its cool when 2nd round picks fight their way up. I wish we could develope some players.

That ain't knick hate, just knick truth.

I had Carlos on my fantasy team last year. He was just as good. He was a double-double and block machine. Only this year he's having more 25pts/15reb games.

Have to disagree. Too early to say Zeke doesn't like youth-just the youth that was here may not be his type of players-athletic, time will tell. Demarr Johnson, 22yrs old so he is looking at young players. He may also like Sweeney but he needs to get in better shape and work with Aguirre on his low post offense. Right now when Sweeney plays he looks very overmatched. The real problem in the past with the knicks was Van Gundy. He hated young guys. Most people forget but he hated Camby when he came over and barely played him .One of the first Miami games he benched him saying "the matchups weren't in his favor" Instead of worrying who Camby was up against let the other team worry about matching up with Camby. He finally had to play Camby when everyone got hurt and had no one else to play and then you say what Camby could do. Also Riley never gave Christie a chance when he was here, saying he wasn't good enough defensively and now Christie makes all defense team. Christie was exactally what we needed back then.

Boozer already produced about 10/7 last year. Since losing weight (since his Duke playing days), he became more mobile.

Sure, maybe we should have picked him over FW (I remember Layden gave him a moment of consideration before picking Frank)... but things would have been very different.

Maybe he would have gotten PT last year. Maybe we would have made the playoffs. Maybe Layden would have looked like a genius and wouldn't have gotten fired. Then there would be no Marbury.

we got FWill in the Camby/Nene/McDyess trade. We never drafted him.

Basically we picked Nene for Den with the 6th pick and they picked FWill for us with the 25th pick (nene and Camby for McDyess and FWill)

You have no idea what happens here under Isiah's regime. When is the last time the Knicks traded for a player of Marbury's caliber? May be 30 years ago when they traded for Pearl, may be never.

Isiah has never conducted a Knick draft. He didn't draft Sweetney and never would have drafted a slow, unathletic player like Lampe, who is 18, unlike the more mature, Duke educated Boozer.

You have no idea what Knick truth is. The book has been re-written.

Dicard all your pre-conceived ideas; they're inoperable now.

I guess my post didn't get here.

As BigRedDog stated, the Knicks made the decision on the 25th draft pick. They showed how it all went down on MSG's (now discontinued) show Angles, with Layden briefly mulling over Boozer's name. FW kept dropping, and when it came to the Knicks' pick, Layden said something along the lines of, "So what's the word? Do we all agree on Frank? Any other names? Boozer? Frank? Okay. Frank. Let's call it in..."

He was undoubtedly on the Knicks' radar... but we had higher priorities, like PG. (considering we just traded for an all-star level PF in McDyess)

Boozer will be available again soon... possibly for the MLE if he wants to come to NY. It's not the best situation for him, considering the number of power players we have already. If we lose Kurt Thomas, he'd be a sweet target for the Knicks...

Boozer is better then KT, he will make much more then the MLE.
