I think that there is a chance that the kncks could get Gooden for Frank Williams and Sweetney. The Maic only want prospects, are willing to trade Gooden for the right price, and need a point guard. Gooden can be the young post-up player the knicks need.

Sounds good, but you think it will actually go down. Because so far I've heard so many trade ideas, but nothing has happened since the Marbury trade....

true case. not to mention the fact that they've rather lose howard (who's on the block due to playing the same position) before they lose a young guy w/alot of potential.

Drew so far has been a flop in orlando, he is the main reason the magic are dead last in the NBA. Well sort of.....He plays the exact style of Howard, and they cancel each other out big time.

Drew was better then boozer at Duke, hands down. Drew was also a better player in memphis, at the rate he's going he may just turn to alcohol. He's as inconsistant as they come.

actually, drew gooden was a monster last year.... he looked like he was gonna be a double double for a good part of his career when he went to orlando. 16pts-10rb guy 1 steal 1 block kina guy
and no, he doesnt play anything like juwan, but he has been shooting the ball a lot more because the truth is the only person that can shoot on orlando is TMAC....which they cant guard ne way
but they pretty much give the shot to everyone else. in order to creat more space, he feels he has to hit some jumpers, and on many nites he misses just like the oppenents expect...
but the main reason drew gooden isnt as consistant and dominant in the pass is because of juwan howard. he has no inside post game, but he plays close to the basket and takes drews room
drew gooden is also a power forward playing in a bigger small forward type of body... with darrel armstrong gone, the only real threat is tmac and thats really hurt them a lot...im not saying he is a great player but i did look like a semi all star last season...
and these changes orlando made really hurt his game
its quite similiar to the spree and houston theory in which we all understand, with many other factors

Thats why I said, they cancel each other out, and he had a pretty good thing in Memph.

He's not as athletic as you would like hime to be, but he's young and thats a +. weather he would do well in NY ( certianly not with KT) is anybodys guess, if continues to play next to J howard, he'll never have the room to grow.

i've been trying to figure out what you mean by "flop in orlando". is it because he avg's 3 1/2pts less than howard? is it because he avg's 1/2 a reb less? c'mon dude, he does what howard does in less time, and for much less $$$. exactly why would they trade that?
and as for athletic, he's not vince, but the man is athletic. if you were the magic gm you would actually trade gooden b4 howard? wow! you must be layden....i mean nuts.
btw he's not inconsistent because he sucks, you may consider him inconsistent because of his position.(same as howard the vet)

What are you guys smoking? Gooden is someone who would fit very nicely with our team. He is an athletic PF/C who can run the floor very well. He is the reason why Orlando almost knocked off Detroit last year. In only 28 minutes per game this year, he is averaging 12 points and 6 rebounds with a 44% FG. This guy is a beast, plain and simple, Frankie and Sweetney for Gooden would be such a steal for us if they did it. Sweetney has potential, but he has proven nothing so far! Frankie has proven that he can play but when you have a choice between a good big-man and a good guard you always go for the big-man. If Orlando would do that deal, we would be getting a huge steal.

Do you really think that Sweeney and Williams have proven their worth more then Gooden. They're all young so who knows what will happen. But Frank is a third string guard with about six good games on his resume who was taken very low in first round. Sweetney - has not even managed to keep himself on the roster for most of the season - never mind in the rotation.

Drew Gooden is playing 28 minutes a game average 12 pts and 6+ rebounds.

A lot of times I think fans like players who don't play much, more then players who play. Every time the player who doesn't play much does something good people get all excited by the potential. But once a player gets consistent minutes you can see the flaws.

I think if Isiah had the chance to make this trade he would. I Know I would. Could it turn out to be a bad move - yes. But I'll take a player who has proven he can play in the league and may improve over two guys who haven't manage to earn enough time to even be judged.
