They play better when not playing together since they are both used to being the GUY. I hope this changes after some getting used to and they both give the effort to make it work. I don't want to see our players crying in the locker room.
so here is what phil is thinking ....

"That's what they're used to but I do think together they'll be dynamic," D'Antoni said. "It's a luxury for us that one goes down and the other starts going and vice versa. We'll finish the game with both of them."

I think he implied that they're just figuring it out, as in it's a work-in-progress

I see signs of them being able to work together. Their passing to each other has been good. They just don't do it enough yet. This thing looks a heck of a lot better with a traffic cop distributing and directing. Billups makes that whole thing work a lot better.

really have to be impressed with STAT he is the true leader of this team.... every night he has brought leadership swag and an agressiveness even with melo being here the past 7 games.....this is STAT's team and city....when trade was made thought it might be different but its not going to be and that is good news...

They are very similar players in terms of how they score, other than the fact that Anthony does more dribbling.

I see James and Wade as having the same problem, although I think James needs the ball more than Wade if he is going to give the most he can give to the Heat.

One of the reasons Rose was probably happy that the Bulls didn't get James is that both need the ball to be effective.

You don't want the Knicks to be one of those two man "your turn/my turn" teams, but that is how we have played at times since the trade. Add Billups, who has perhaps tried to do too much at times, and you have a team where 3 guys can score 85 pts and you lose.

Hopefully MDA works things out so they can both exist and thrive on the floor together.

Time will tell.

Wonder if there have been any talks between the two about this kind of thing, or is it the law laid down by MDA?

When Melo actually plays within the offense there's no problems. Those motion sets work great. When he's in the ball stopper mode, that's when things get a bit dicey for STAT and Melo. The rest of the team can't stop moving when Melo gets it. He's got to look for his teammates as he did tonight and things will workout fine.

look to me like melo is comfortable with STAT being the guy from leadership standpt...from waht i have seen they both can play together...melo just hasnt shot well as knick...he will...he is maybe getting more jump shots within an offense rather than him creating most of his shots like he did in denver thru iso's....def a better passer and sees flr better than people give him credit for.....all said and done they will be a great one two punch

And you figure this is almost like training camp for these guys. Basketball is so much of knowing where everyone is, where they like to be. I mean, I haven't seen one pick and roll with A'mare since the trade. Imagine what happens when Melo and A'mare figure out a two man game, pick and roll thing? Unstoppable.
