This is another area for concern. After TD we have no one with NBA caliber speed to disrupt push defend etc.. and should be an area of focus along with rim protection. This would be my personal focus--perimeter speed and rim protection. We can score the points but we need different assets to help defend that we just dont have right now.

Speed doesn't matter if you don't have the iq......watch td and field s continue to allow their man just dribble into the lane with ease......thats part of the defensive struggle....nobody squares up on their man.

Felton is the only player with speed we lost lol Anthony Carter is pretty fast for an old dude

but we could use a really athletic and quick back up 2/3 along with a center of course

Shannon Brown would fit nicely.

I hear you but it doesnt take away from the concept that we need to improve both rim protection and perimeter defense and speed. We need to be able to push the ball disrupt the opposing PG--we really need to focus on both. That is why I was against giving up Mosgov, he was the only rim protection we had and its hard to find a 24 year old athletic 7-1 260 guy like that. He mightve needed more time--but I think he couldve been a major piece here.

I liked Timo, but he wasn't the only rim protection we had. STAT, Turiaf and Will provided the bulk of the shotblocking we had. I think we can expect Donnie and Mike to keep looking for better options at guard and C. Chances are they're gonna be really young or really old, since those tend to be the cheapest help you can get.

Do you see how finding the old used up pieces are helping the Heat. Its a three man team stuck in cap hell that needs to improve. Sure they are really good but they just dont have the pieces to go around these guys.

Fire D'antoni if you want improvement on defense. No one is buying whatever the hell he says about defense.

AC actually has pretty good perimeter speed - but good point. I watched felton and lawson play together and I was seeing stars - they were like a blur
so here is what phil is thinking ....

Come on , be consistent. How many times did you bitch when we signed Mosgov? You complained about what a waste of money he was and how he wasted cap space. And now we have to hear you complain every day how we traded him? You are hot and cold , never anything inbetween from you .

fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

The only thing I bthced about is paying someone 3mm dollars just to sit him in a short contract--that is was a waste of space when we needed it. I really do believe that we did not bring along either Mosgov or Randolph correctly--and I dont think we shouldve included Mosgov in a deal that was so heavily weighted one way.

Mason played great D last night - -blocks, rebounds -- we need to give him a shot too, once he gets in the flow he'll make some shots also, Williams has improved tremendously on Defense -- helping out, blocking shots
