Carmelo Anthony posted a letter to Denver Nuggets fans on his website Thursday, thanking them for their support during his eight seasons there.
Anthony was traded to the Knicks last Tuesday after refusing to sign a contract extension with the Nuggets.
The note read:

"I had to let you know how I felt about you, the city, my fans, my friends. You've been supportive of me and my NBA career for the past 8 years and that doesn't go unnoticed.
"Drafted when I was 19 I called Denver and the Nuggets my home. The city and the fans embraced me and watched me grow as a man and a player.
"There are no words to express the gratitude and appreciation I have for Denver, the Nuggets and all the fans.
"You will always be a part of my heart.
One Love, Melo"

You mean you dont throw the whole fanbase under the bus by announcing it on a one hour long tv special??

Pure propaganda initiated by his management team, who probably feel that doing it now, when Denver fans are feeling good about their new team, was the right time.

The Chris Paul toast about a big three in NY (I see this kind of thing as orchestrated, not just a joke- and he had just signed with Lebron's agency.),subsequent rumors about Anthony's interest in NY, James being intrigued with a Miami vs Knicks big 3 faceoff, and Anthony's push to get out of Denver, make me think that all of these guys are in collusion.

If people really believe that this is anything more than a publicity stunt/damage control measure designed to make Anthony seem like a nice guy buffeted about by forces beyond his control, you're living in a fantasy world, one that a cynic such as myself left long ago.

The whole thing has a WWF slant of late. Wonder when we come out and stare down the opponents and beat our chests...oh wait KG does now.
