On the road trip we had earlier in the year Houston didn't play when we lost in Golden State, LA (Lakers), and in Utah. He also didn't play when we lost to Chicago at the Garden.
"This is a very cautious situation that we're in. You have to be conservative in terms of using your assets and using them wisely. We're building for the future." - Zeke (I guess not protecting a first round pick is being conservative)

Some of those games Van horn was out, or playing hurt to help depleted offense (pre-marbury).

We are more athletic without Allan, and thats a plus.

But Allan is not going anywhere, so lets not even think it.

WE are not athletic at the PF or the C. That is where we can get it done.

i don't think allan is going anywhere either--mostly because who wants his contract? but im sure zeke is open to trading him if he could find some good return--say in like the 4 and 5 :)

maybe the van gundy would like to trade yao? id be down for that trade.

just putting a cap on this thread:

"The Knicks are 6-4 overall this season without Houston but only one of those victories - Tuesday vs. Indiana - has come against a team with a winning record."

I think its pretty obvious we need Houston. The problem is that we have not been using him as we should. The offense should not be going through him as it was in Chaney's system. In Chaney's system Allan gets the ball and goes one on one, while everyone stands and looks on. If he gets double teamed he kicks the ball out - an easy play to draw up and an even easier one to defend against.

Wilkens should understand this and make the necessary adjustment to have all the plays run through Stephon Marbury, Penny Hardaway, Frank Williams and no one else.

I actually think we do not need Houston. I think he adds some extra firepower to our offense and I will take it for sure but I reallyt dont think we NEED him like you say.

I really hate how he just refuses to rebound the ball of find open players. He is 6'6!! Why does he just always say, "No, I will not rebound"!!! Van Gundy tried, Chaney tried and now Lenny is trying but Houston only wants to jumpshoot!! And lets give him a max contract and kill our cap....!
