I don't think we can ask for a better mentor for TD then Chauncey. Early in his career Chanucey had the same stigma attached to him as TD (he is a SG in a PG body) and he has the same skill set (both defend, both play below the rim, neither ever depended on speed or athleticism, both had a knack for scoring). I am not saying TD is the next Chauncey but having Chauncey mentor him when they are/were so much alike, can only lead to good things for TD.

I'm very happy about that, cause TD is one of my favourite guy on the team. He plays tough, he plays hard, he plays D ! If he can improve on his decision making, he'll become a very good player for us. I like him like I liked Charlie Ward a few years ago, even though I don't mean to compare the two...

True, and you know Chauncy, for a long time, he was a bum. His career didn't really take off until his late 20s. Until then, he bounced around from team to team, being a bum. So Chauncy is a late bloomer.

There is a ton of hope for Toney. Toney has a good brain in his skull, so I think he will eventually turn into a very good point guard, if he wants to.

WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

At this point in their careers...TD defending the quicker PG's (especially in the playoffs) will be key...Chauncey doesn't have that same lateral quickness...Even Carter for his age, has pretty good defense.

Both Carter and Billups are great mentors for TD.....They could actually help mentor TD into becoming our backup PG of the future. He would definitely be a cheaper piece to the puzzle, if we expect to add another high priced FA.

Born in Brooklyn, Raised in Queens, Lives in Maryland. The future is bright, I'm a Knicks fan for life!

Give TD the rest of the season and this summer to learn from Billups and AC and there will be huge growth. Not like he was gonna learn much from Duhon The dynamics have me thinking he never really accepted Felton as a mentor but he certainly respects Chauncey

The stars are aligned. His time will come and he is better than most of you guys have any idea. For TD it's mostly mental now and I think he grows by leaps and bounds in the playoffs and in the summer.

Toney is a leader.

Bill Simmons on Tyreke Evans "The prototypical 0-guard: Someone who handles the ball all the time, looks for his own shot, gets to the rim at will and operates best if his teammates spread the floor to watch him."

I gotta be honest. I am scared of Paul. At that price with those knees...just Yikes! I always liked Deron better, but honestly I am not a proponent of the 3 stars thing. Give me 2 max guys and use the other money on an above average PG (I really hope Toney may be able to be that guy learning from Billups) a C who fits the system well, and some bench depth.

I shall call my system the 2.5 stars with depth system.

The Knicks could opt to extend a reduced contract to Billups after next season. This of course is supposing he can still perform at a reasonably high level toward the tail end of next year.

Walsh supposedly is considered extending him next year (that's what any reasonable person should say).
