I think that he is the most underated, under appreciated player in the league. Would fit in great in NY. Anyone know when his contract is up? Would it be worth giving him max money if we can't get CP3 or D Williams? I think we can find a serviceable PG and win a title with a BIG like Love. And, he is a real glue guy.
so here is what phil is thinking ....

His contract is up next year. I say give him max money and pick up a serviceable PG that can defend (e.g. D. Fisher)

Front line: Melo, Amare, Love (this Front line will get every rebound and Love's 3 pt shooting (42%!!) will not allow the Double teams from the opposing Center

Back court: Fields, (Sessions?)

Love is a restricted free agent and I'm sure the Timberwolves would match any offer, He's more of a power foward anyway not a center he's not a shot blocker. Most importantly yes he's putting up big rebounding numbers and scoring 21 a game but you need to keep in mind how bad the team he's playing on is, I feel he would be a very good role player but not max money. He's not an impact player he's more David Lee than Amare Stoudemire even though he is stronger and a better defender than Lee. Hope nobody gets upset this is just my opinion.

I think the Knicks have enough shot blocking. They need a crazy good rebounder who also can stretch the D. It's definitely not the prototypical fit but can it work? Can it be great? I think maybe it can.

I remember reading he is from CA and wants to move back.

I would love him here and he would perfect in this system!

Statistically intriguing, but you have a few guys on that team who seem to be having decent years, yet look at the team's record.

He is also a limited defensive player. Put him on a front line with Amare and Melo and you are looking for trouble, IMO.

He is best paired with an athletic SF and a defensively dominant C.

Offensively, I don't know if you could find a more dominant front line pairing for Melo and STAT than Love. Its not possible to get him, but its nice to think about.

Big Baby is better on defense, not quite the range. I'd like to take a shot at him, but if we're picking up Chauncey's option then we don't have the cap room.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Just to be clear, Love isn't a restricted free agent until 2012-2013, so not a potential UFA until 2013-2014.

Minnesota would match ANY offer sheet in 2012-13 and if they get the sense he won't stay there long-term, they will trade him.

If he can stay healthy and grabs boards the way he has, he's going to be one of the top rebounders ever.

He's going to be a Laker right next to Dwight Howard. Bank on it.

There is only one way that's possible. That's if one of Byum and Gasol are each traded for Love and Howard.

I suspect if Byum can stay healthy, he for Howard is a distinct possibility. But Gasol will be 32-33 by the time it's time to trade Love and makes max dollars.

He really makes no sense for Minnesota, or Orlando for that matter.

As has been stated, he's the focal point on a really really really bad team. Will he get enough touches with our Big 2 1/2 to be an effective piece if his defense sux?

I'd rather shoot a load at the moon and get DHoward at center, rather than a really rich man's DLee.

IMHO, if Orlando knows they need to put Howard on market, Pau & Bynum will be the price, and really, how could the Lakers refuse?
