While the dearly departed Mozgov atrophies on the Nuggets bench, Jared Jeffries is considered the defensive savior du jour.

Neither player was/is of any use to their team.

Which would you rather have in a Knicks uniform?

Misterearl, who called JJ a defensive savior?

Given the choice, i'd choose Moz. He had more potential, but the deed has been done. So we should move on and wish the moz luck. Many guys have potential but never realize it. See Eddy Curry, I thought he could actually be dominant, but that was egg on my face.

The Answer Man Has A Bad Feeling About Things

Q. Allanfan20 - who called JJ a defensive savior?

A. Anyone who thinks Jared Jeffries is a solution to being out-rebounded by 20

not a solution, but a stop gap. it will help, you have to accept that. Don't discredit his knowledge of the system and his iq. Many coaches love the guy, no reason he can't help us. Dude can play d on point guards and other centers.

The celtics don't scare me, how many minutes are we expecting shaq to play.

Nobody thinks he's a solution. In fact, most people on the board probably can't stand the guy. What he does is hustle, get an occasional steal and/or blocked shot and play some decent defense. Nothing wrong with that, but like I said in another post, he is NOT the solution and I hope that the Knicks agree with me on this one.

Given the make up of this collective Knicks group.. I'd rather have Jared Jeffries. Our Knicks need solid defenders... Jeffries can excel on this side of the floor. He is a value because he is quick enough to guard multiple positions on the floor. Offensively, he runs well??? lololol (Thats it!). I really don't know what happened to his offensive game, he was pretty decent scoring the ball in college.. smh.

Denver took Moz to punish Melo and us. They knew that we'd be worse without any Bigs and that was a good way to slow down any success we might have. Dolan basically killed his own team by getting involved and giving up Timo. Not that he's the difference in a championship, but he did help.

not really, timo had a "handful" of ok games in which he had dunks. let's stop making him out to be this super glue guy. Go out and get another big, sign him to a 30 day contract. It's not hard to find centers to do what timo did. Did he have upside, yes? all of our players did, thats why we were able to get melo. But, believe it or not, Jeffries will be able to give you what Timo gave, plain and simple.

Mosgov. Bigger, more future, better potential for a real offensive game.

Jefferies is trash. During the days of total and abject despair and failure he provided a few moments of defense, in stark contrast to what was happening all around him on that Knicks team. That does not make him a good or even decent player.

I'm not arguing that Timo was some great rebounding force, but now we have even less size. I can't wait for Tuesday so we can try to add some bigs. I like Jared for this team defensively. I like his length and range. He can move very well for his size and that can't hurt. Jared will be good against PnR, since he has better lateral quickness than Turiaf. He's better at turning back PG's.

Moz is much more an offensive player than advertised. He can't keep his man in front of him on defense.

Jeffries is a better fit right now.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I am still irritated that Denver insisted on getting him then burying him on the bench.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

Let's you know that it was just to stick it to Melo and The Knicks. They didn't need him they just wanted to take every last crumb they could for spite.

Or else that they saw what we saw...a guy who's not yet ready, but is a prospect.

Jeffries
TD
Amar'e
Melo
Turiaf

This line up represents a defensive upgrade, IMO and can set a different tone in any game.

Jeffries is the best he will ever be at this game. Mosgov will improve...somewhere.
