still a 7 footer who was once thought to be a defensive force in college. Why not try to get him Donnie? Memphis reportedly would trade him for the aging Battier, maybe we can come up with something better

I would do Fields/Brewer for Mayo/Thabeet in a heartbeat

Grizzlies want Battier willing to do Thabeet and first for him. I would definitely give a hard look but not sure Thabeet is NBA material. I heard Za Za is available from the Hawks might be a decent pick up in a center by committee.

I would offer Azubuike (cash savings since he is 80% covered by insurance) and maybe Mason?

But Thabeet will NOT be ready to contribute this season. Might be better to try to sign him cheaper this summer.

Thabeet has 2 more years in his contract after this year and it is pretty substantial. I don't think you trade for him unless you think he can be really our guy in the middle cause you would have just taken us out of the CP3/Deron sweepstakes in 2012.

Dude was a stiff when he was drafted.

He is serviceable though. Memphis is probably asking to much for him.

Thabeet is traight garbage. I'm still amazed that he was drafted as high as he was. Highest draft pick ever sent to the D-League. The last thing we need right now is a high salary guy who can't play. I

they should trade him straight up for Oden. If he doesn't get traded, whenever his option is up, it won't be picked up.

Hey, how about a line up of Thabeet, Oden & Joe Alexander. That is about as close to an all bust line up as possible.

People have to understand only the first two year's of any rookie deals are guaranteed. Years 3 and 4 are team options. Thabeet isn't guaranteed a dime for the next two seasons, and his options are picked up individually. You can pick up his 2011 option but renounce him in 2012.

Not that I advocate this by any means. The guys is a stiff. Just clarifying a rule.

The thread title sounds like the name of a new sitcom on NBA TV.
