First off, Utah would not have been interested in our package for Deron Williams. But even if they were, our deal with the Nuggets was significantly better. Melo and Billups is much better than simply Williams. Don't listen to anyone on ESPN or anywhere else who says we gave up too much, yet the Nets made the right deal. I am hearing that and reading that a lot. I hope everyone here agrees with me.

Deron Williams may be talented but I get the sense he is a little too much me first - just look at what happened with Sloan. I say no thank you - I will stick with the winners we have on our roster.

I also could not see myself getting too excited about getting DW, but I am pretty psyched we got Melo and Chauncy is also huge.

So yes I agree. Still think we paid a lot but we got great players.

Only time will tell if we gave up too much. Lets see what Ray, Moz, Gallo & Will do in the years to come. Letting go Lee for Amare already looks like a landslide. But in the beginning of the season of course Amare was the same player as Lee.

Billups is very impressive. I think his presence will impact this team a lot. He just got here, hasn't had a chance to practice, and still looked great and was the leader on the court tonight. I don't think the Knicks will have to worry about Twitter wars between Amare/Melo and LBJ/Wade/Bosh. He has so many intangibles that can't be measured on a stat sheet.

There is a story about Billups that demonstrates the type of leader he is. Three weeks after being traded to the Nuggets he was out in a nightclub along with Melo and several other key Nuggets. When the clock hit 1am he stood up and signaled for everyone to exit and go home. Every one of the players got up and followed his lead. This man is a born leader and can inspire his teammates to greater heights than they would normally achieve.

I dont think Utah would have accepted our package for Deron Williams. However, Deron Williams would have been sick here. The guy is a superstar.

You don't need the best PGs to win a championship.

We need Dwight Howard. Maybe take a shot at Greg Oden depending on the price?

I agree with you on this. Knicks should take a look at Oden, as for Howard that is a no brainer championships would roll the Knicks way year in and year out.

Did NJ waive his bird rights in the deal? I haven't seen the details, but it is hard to believe that NJ wouldn't match any offer...even a max offer to keep it's new franchise player. Hey, atleast they won't be in competition for CP3 and quite frankly i can't wait to see if Dwill is still the best PG in the league with that supporting cast

We got TWO star players in exchange 3.2 starters. Yes Billups is old but he/Nash/Kidd are all stil capable of havingdominant seasons. He still is a top 5 PG in this league, when you look at intangibles and leadership as well as stats.

And we fans seem to be consistently overrating Mozgov, as much as I liked him, he has started maybe 6 games for us?

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

man fuk him. He ran an ICON out of town.

We went off after hearing about Steph and Zeke nearly coming to blows on the flight home after an away game loss. How can anyone give Williams a pass for going at the coach at half time.
